One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

My original transmission cooler sprung a leak on my 1990 dodge pickup and a direct replacement couldn't be found. Etrailer had a cooler that would fit and do the job. Would highly recommend them to solve your problems and supply what's needed.

Hose could be a little longer for non professionals cutting too short.
I would recommend buying extra hose too install. Overall easy too install and works great

Fittings came contaminated with metal shavings from machining and wouldn't even fit in to the cooler really poor quality. If this is in the fittings who knows whats in the cooler. Complete waste of time do not buy

  • Transmission Cooler for 2005 Honda Accord V6.
The Derale # D13611 transmission cooler isn't designed to replace the factory transmission cooler, it's designed to supplement it. The cooler installs inline on the return line from the factory cooler back to the transmission. The heat exchanger portion would ideally be installed directly behind the grillwork, in front of the radiator. If you use the provided link, my buddy David will run through how the cooler works. I'll also link to some help articles about transmission coolers.

  • Secondary Transmission Cooler For A 2000 Honda Accord V6 Needed
The best way to select the correct transmission cooler is by determining where there is enough space to mount it. The attached diagram shows the best three positions to mount the transmission cooler in order. Transmission coolers are more efficient when they receive maximum air flow. The "A" transmission cooler location in the diagram is 100% efficient so a larger transmission cooler is not needed to compensate for the loss of cooling power. My recommendation is the Derale Dyno-Cool...

  • How Does Supplemental Transmission Cooler Work with Factory Cooler of 2003 Ford Escape
When installing a transmission cooler the best solution is to install the supplemental cooler after the factory cooler so that you get the cooling power of both coolers. That is what I would recommend when installing an a cooler on your 2003 Ford Escape.

  • Brake Controller and Transmission Cooler for a 2000 Ford Expedition
Since you mentioned it does not have the factory tow package, but that you do have a 4-way, I am going with the assumption that the 4-way was an aftermarket addition. To use a brake controller, you will need to adapt your current 4-way into a 7-way using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 kit will provide you with everything that you need to adapt the 4-way into a functioning 7-way to use a brake controller. The brake controller that I recommend...

  • Transmission Cooler For A 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee With A 3 Liter Diesel
I contacted Derale to verify that any transmission cooler will work on your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee as long as it will fit where you want to install it. I recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Item # D13611 as it is small enough to mount in many different locations but still provide you with the proper cooling for your transmission. I have also provided a link to the different size coolers for a Jeep Grand Cherokee so you can take a look and get a better idea...

  • Will Transmission Cooler Resolve Mixed Coolant Issues On A 2005 Nissan Frontier
Any of the transmission coolers we sell are designed more as a supplemental cooler that is meant to augment the factory transmission cooler portion of the radiator, not replace it entirely. If you are having the common problem with the radiator leaking causing the engine coolant contaminating the transmission fluid, your best bet would be to have the original radiator replaced. Nissan has extended the factory warranties on radiators on 2005-2010 Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra models....

  • Transmission Cooler for a 2016 GMC Terrain Denali with 3.6 Liter V8
Yes you can use the Derale transmission cooler # D13611 on your 2016 GMC Terrain. The cooler will help the fluid run at a lower temperature which is better for the transmission so that you will get the most life out of it. Installation is not all that difficult. Take a look at the video I have linked showing an example installation on a vehicle. Installation will be similar on your Terrain.

  • Transmission Cooler Compatible With a 2023 Toyota Tacoma
I do see Toyota does offer a small transmission cooler like the Derale # D13611 from the factory on your 2023 Toyota Tacoma. It appears this is added if you have the factory towing package and automatic transmission. Their cooler is connected using hose clamps so it does not appear there is a way to attach a cooler using mechanical connections unless you switch the lines to some with AN fittings. Personally I recommend the larger Cooler # D13503 to help keep temperatures lower. These coolers...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Highlander
With transmission coolers "size does matter..." Basically the bigger the cooler you can fit in front of the radiator the better it's going to cool your fluid. Between the two you mentioned the part # D13503 would be the best option. It's size is 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. For your size vehicle this is the perfect size and would do a great job.

  • What is Required for Towing a Trailer w/ a 2004 Honda Pilot
I looked up an online version of your 2004 Honda Pilot's owner's manual and it states that additional transmission and power steering coolers are required to tow. It also states that a trailer that weighs 1,000 pounds or more should have its own operating brakes. I've attached an article on coolers that you might like. The firs thing in choosing one is find a place to put it in your Pilot. The best place is always in front of the radiator so it will get as much air flow as possible....

  • Larger Transmission Cooler Recommendation to Replace Small One Where Fluid Still Gets Hot
The transmission cooler part # D13611 that you referenced is a pretty small cooler. Since you are towing on steeper grades a larger cooler would be your best option. If you can fit the part # D13503 instead of what you currently have this would be a much better option. This cooler measures 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. This cooler will be more than adequate for towing the weights you will be towing. You can not cool transmission fluid too much so the larger the cooler is, the better. We have a video installation of this cooler on a 2006 Honda CR-V that will be very similar to the installation on your 1997 model, see link. I'll start this off by saying that you should always consult your owner's manual when looking for exact specs in regards to your vehicle's capabilities and capacities, but from what I was able to determine from my research, the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Trailhawk trim has a towing capacity of 5000-lbs (based on it being a V6 3.6L engine). • Aftermarket Transmission Cooler Installation for Mitsubishi Vehicles
It would not surprise me if Mitsubushi OEM transmissions had a function that stopped the flow of transmission fluid out of the transmission when the transmission is cold. • Transmission Cooler for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Some Nissan vehicles like the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder can have problems with the transmission and radiator. If it were me I would look for any signs of leaking fluid at the tranny and radiator. Also, if you notice anything out of the ordinary with the way the vehicle changes gears, I would avoid it. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1990 Dodge Caravan
There are several coolers recommended for your 1990 Dodge Caravan. I have incldued a link to them for you. The type of coolant the vehicle uses is not a factor. Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific and are flow through devices with no moving parts so the type of fluid and the vehicle are not issues. We recommend installing the largest cooler that will fit in the vehicle. This is because transmission fluid cannot be over cooled and because a larger cooler will be more efficient....

  • Transmission Fluid Needed for Transmission Cooler Installation
When you install the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13611 a little extra fluid will be needed. The last part of the installation instructions have you add fluid as needed and then drive the vehicle for a little while and recheck the fluid level. Not much additional fluid is needed unless much is spilled when you disconnect and reconnect the lines. Normally just a few ounces of fluid is needed.

  • Can the Factory Transmission Cooler be Replaced on a 2006 Nissan Xterra
The factory transmission cooler is likely inside of the radiator on your 2006 Nissan Xterra so the only way to replace it would be to replace the radiator. You can probably find an aftermarket one for less money than an OEM replacement from Nissan. I can tell you that what they want to charge, assuming that includes parts AND labor, is not a bad price for that type of repair.
