Features to know about

Water Exposure and Corrosion: Fully Submersible, Sonically Sealed Design

If your trailer light sees water or heavy rain, this LED unit is built to handle it. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together, creating a single waterproof piece that’s completely submersible. Water can’t sneak in to damage the diodes or short the circuit board, so you get a light that stays dependable whether you’re backing into the water or driving through downpours. The durable polycarbonate lens and housing resist cracking and clouding, keeping things bright and clear for the long haul.

Needing a Reliable, Efficient Upgrade: 2-Diode LED Power

Replacing old incandescent lights with LEDs means less maintenance and more light output. This round LED trailer light uses two red diodes behind a red lens to deliver bright, efficient illumination while drawing only 0.12 amps at 12.8V. LEDs don’t have fragile filaments to burn out, so they last up to 50 times longer while using less power. Once installed, you won’t be worrying about swapping bulbs again anytime soon.

Limited Mounting Space: Compact Surface-Mount Fit

When space is tight or you’re replacing an existing light, this surface-mount design keeps things simple. At 1-11/16" in diameter and 3/4" deep, it lays flat against the trailer surface with just a small hole needed for wiring. Mounting hardware isn’t included, so you can use what fits your setup best. It also has a 2-wire pigtail with 0.180" male bullets for quick connection—black for power and white for ground—making installation straightforward.

Visibility Where It Counts: P2 Rated Beam Pattern

This light is P2 rated with a 90-degree beam pattern that shines clearly straight ahead but not fully to the side. That makes it great as either a clearance or side marker light, depending on where you mount it. The bright red output helps make your trailer more visible in low light or at night, improving safety on the road.

Wanting a Finished Look: Optional Chrome Bezel Available

If you want to clean up your trailer’s look or match existing trim, an optional chrome bezel (sold separately) adds a neat, finished appearance around the light. It’s an easy way to tie your lighting setup together without changing how the light mounts or works.

Video Transcript for Review of the M3 LED Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Light

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this M3 LED red clearance or side marker trailer light. Now this round trailer light will serve as either a side marker or a clearance light. It is a P2 rated light, so it does produce a 90 degree beam pattern. It is sonically sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit is submersible. Now it does use LEDs which make great replacements for incandescent lights because it'll last 50 times longer.

They're more efficient because they'll provide brighter light with less power output. And of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments to break. This is a nice durable polycarbonate lens and housing. It has red diodes with the red lens. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems, and it is designed to mount on the surface of the trailer. Now the hardware to install this is not included.

They do also offer a chrome bezel that we do sell separately on our website. It'll provide a nice finished look if you prefer. And if you'll notice, on the back of the light, it has the two wire pigtails with the male bullet connectors, and they're both red wires. So they're not polarity sensitive. You could use either wire for either function. At the end of this video, I am going to hook this up just to show you how bright the light is.This light is department of transportation compliant.

Few dimensions on this light. The diameter, the light itself, is going to be right at one and 11 sixteenths inches. A depth on it, now we're going to measure from the front to the back here. Sticks out is about one and three quarter inches. Does use two LEDs.

The power draw on this light at 12.8 volts is 0.12 amps.So what I'm going to do now is we're going to hook this up to some power, show you how bright the light is. And as I mentioned, it doesn't matter which one's power, which one's ground. Use either one for either function. And now with them both connected, we'll go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power and you can see there's the red light. Go ahead and turn off the overhead lights and you can see how bright it is. Can be used as a clearance light or a side marker trailer light. There's your pattern it gives off. We'll go ahead and turn back on the overhead light. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the M3 LED red clearance or side marker trailer light.

See what our Experts say about this Optronics Trailer Lights

  • Replacement Red Clearance Lights for InTech Enclosed Trailer
Thanks for the photos, Bill! It looks like you've got some Optronics Millennium lights on your InTech trailer so you'll need the following parts to replace them: - Round Marker Light # OPT44FR or # 11212278B - Chrome Bezel # 00212217B - Millennium M5 LED # 00212707P It doesn't look like Optronics makes the round red clearance light with the clear lens anymore so you'll either need to go with the solid red lens or the partial red/clear lens which are both listed at the top.
