Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement standoff for the Surco Exterior RV Ladders. This is for a quantity of one. Now this will replace one standoff on your Surco Exterior RV Ladder. It is an aluminum construction and it is designed to work on the Surco SP501L and the SP502L RV ladders that we do sell separately on our website.
Basically, the standoff is what'll secure and support your RV ladder to your RV. Just wanted to pop up an insert to show you. There's an example. You can see the ladder and then you can see behind it attached to the RV are these standoffs to hold it in place and secure it. This part will include the standoff tube itself, the mounting plate and then the tube shape mounting bracket and bolt that'll go around the round tube of the ladder.
Basically, this tube shaped mounting bracket is what goes on the back of the vertical round upright of the ladder. If you look on the insert there and then this bolt that's included will hold it in place onto the ladder and then this mounting plate you can see here, this will slide up and go up against the RV and you attach it with four screws. Now the screws to install this to the RV are not included. You would need to supply that. Now, the length on this is five inches long and the diameter in the tube is one inch diameter.

Do it right the first time, then you won't have to do it over!
First off I want to thank etrailer for stocking this product. to get it and easily straighten the ladder and install this stand off brace was a game changer for me. it works like expected and literally saved me hundreds of dollars buying a complete new ladder. to have a round base would have made it an exact match however I am extremely pleased with it so much that I published a [online] Video on installing it. Hope this helps.

Added this item to the longer ladder for a bumper support. Ladder was a foot short on reaching the ground and the shorter ladder did notmake our bumper on the RV.
Seems to be strong and will do the job.

It is working great, it gives us just enough support on the bumper to safely use our ladder.
This is a perfect replacement for my RV stairs. I don't have to buy a complete set of stairs because the bottom bars got hit in my accident.

Product is very nicely made. However, it did not sub for the parts I needed to replace so I will be returning it. Will definitely keep this in mine for my next lader build from scratch..
