Today we're going to be reviewing part number ILL85CB. This is the Optronics LED Light with a Foam Gasket, 10 Diode design for 12 and 24 Volts Systems. It's going to be perfect for buses, RV's, enclosed trailers or boats when it comes to a compact step or area light. It's going to feature a long lasting LED system. These are going to be great replacements for incandescent lights. It's going to feature a nice multi diode design. You can see all the diodes here.
It's going to optimize your light output. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and brittle filaments and the LED system is going to be more efficient. This is dual power design so it is going to work with 12 or 24 volt DC system. It's going to feature a closed cell foam mounting gasket. This is going to create a weather tight seal during your installation. Durable polycarbonate lens, nice clear lens.
Then you're going to have the two wire design. This is going to provide you with a white wire and a black wire, for power and ground. White is going to be ground, black is going to be power. You can also see here that it's got a nice, protective thicker wire casing that goes around those two wires to keep them from any type of damage. The portion that has the black cover over the wires is going to measure 41" in length. The exposed area right here is going to give us an additional 5" or so.
When it comes to the actual dimensions of the light itself, the length is going to give us a measurement of about 4-1/4". The depth, that's going to give us a measurement of about 1-3/4". Thickness is going to measure about 1-1/4". Again it's going to have the 10 diodes which are all going to be the LED's right there. Power draw is 0.107 amps at 12.8 volts.
Operating voltage is 8 volts to 30 volts. You could also see here that these are your mounting slots right here. This is a stud mount installation. We'll take a measurement of the distance between those mounting holes, center on center, that's going to give us a measurement of about 3-5/8". Optronics is going to put a lifetime warranty on the LED's. I want to go ahead and hook this up to our external power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. We'll also be able to to turn off our overhead lights. That way you you can see it in a low light setting. There you can see nice, bright white light. The clear lens allows a lot of light to come through and you can see how that sends out a nice, consistent signal. It's going to provide a lot of light wherever you choose to mount this, again whether you use it as an area or a step light, it's going to be perfect for buses, RV's, enclosed trailers or even boats. That's going to do it for our review of part number ILL85CB. This is the Optronics LED Light with the Foam Gasket with a 10 diode design. .

Perfect for buses, RVs, enclosed trailers, or boats.I was looking for an LED license plate light that put out lots of light and didnt look flimsy. I liked the looks of this light on the web page, and it looked as good when I pulled it out of the box. Its listed as a step light, but so I figured it would be plenty bright for a license plate. The wires are decent size considering the low current it pulls. Ive seen reviews on other LED lights that said the wires were so small that you couldnt even strip them back without breaking them. I dont have a picture at night, but look how bright it is even during the daylight picture I attached. By the way, this shows 12/24 volts. I tested it with a 6 volt flashlight battery, and it works off that as well. Great light - I highly recommend it.
This was purchased to replace an incandescent bulb in my trailer tongue jack. I mounted the light behind the opaque lens cover and hooked the wires up to the switch. It’s a lot brighter than the single incandescent lamp it replaced.
Exact fit for a Star Trans bus at a better price.
Good. I put 1 on front of each fender pointing down as a cheap way to cast light on the ground and the front of the trailer wheels - to see the wheel edges while driving on narrow dark roads.
It works. I was hoping it would cast a wider light, out over the edge of the road, not the couple foot area it lights up. But it works.
It would for sure light up a license plate. It's a bright light.
I use these lights as replacement stepwell light on transit buses work great and light stepwell very good.
this is the right place for the right part at the best price. GREAT customer service. I got my parts in a few days. WAY TO GO ETRAILER
This is a neat little light that will easily fit in a number of tight places. The lighting is quite bright for the size of this light. I received the package two days earlier than my best expectation, which is a very good thing.
Love the led lights, although it would be nice if the light came in a color that wouldn't attract bugs.
excellent product, easy installation
Product is an exact match at a reasonable price. Thank you!
