Video Transcript for What to Know About the LED Backup Light

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number BUL11CM24B. This is the Optronics LED backup light. This is going to work well on a trailer or utility truck. It's going to provide a white reverse light. This is certified for backup light function when installed as a pair in a two-lamp system. The unit's designed for 24 volt system.

It's going to feature long-lasting LEDs. LEDs are going to make a great replacement for incandescent lights. It's got the multi-diode design so it's really going to help optimize your light output. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or brittle filaments and the LEDs are going to be more efficient which means they're going to provide brighter light while using less power. This unit's going to feature a nice sealed water-proof one-piece molded plastic housing and durable lens. It's going to feature a corrosion resistant design, very strong construction, water-proof connection here on the back of the light.

So it's going to use a water-blocking design. This is going to help keep moisture out. So the plug that goes with this system is going to be available and sold separately part number AL45PWTB and that goes right inside this connection point there. It's got the locking tab on one end to provide the nice, tight, secure connection. It does require a mounting grommet and the plug for complete installation.

Those items are sold separately and you can find both of those on our website. It's SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. It meets FMVSS 108 requirements in any 360 degree position. We're going to go ahead and take a look at a few of the measurements real quick. First thing's going to be the diameter of the light measuring from edge to edge. That's going to give us a measurement of about 4 and 5/16ths of an inch.

We'll take a measurement of the depth from the front of the lens to the back of the plug. We're going to be looking at 1 and 5/8ths of an inch. We just measured the thickness of the lens, we're looking at about 7/8ths of an inch. This light's going to contain 10 LEDs or 10 diodes, so again, the multi-diode design is really going to optimize our light output. It's going to give us a nice white light coming through the clear lens. It's going to allow a lot of light to come through. It's a flush runner installation with that grommet that's sold separately and Optronics is going to put a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.
