Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.
Features:
Specs:
Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hey there, Jesse with etrailer. Today we'll be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame trailer hitch on our 2025 Chevrolet Trax. Adding a trailer hitch to the back of a car like the Chevy Trax makes a ton of sense. It is a crossover, however, it doesn't have a ton of storage space on the inside, so this gives you the ability to add storage space onto the rear of the vehicle, whether it be through a bike rack or a cargo carrier, or something like that, and you can even do some light duty towing with the vehicle. Now for a closer look at our hitch, you'll see the cross tubes are mostly concealed. There's still a little bit visible, but it looks just fine, in my opinion.
We have a standard two inch by two inch receiver opening. Behind that, another standard 5/8 inch pinhole. The pin and clip is not included with the hitch. However, we do have many options available here at etrailer. The most accessories that you'll add on will most likely come with one included.
And then we have our wire-type safety cable loops. These will work great for any kind of safety cable you might have, whether it be S-hook or a clevis-style, like this. Now for some measurements, from the ground to the top of the inside of the collar is just about 12 1/2 inches, so just keep that in mind. Any accessory you might add onto it, you might wanna look for one with a rise to it. And from the center of the pinhole to the edge of the bumper is about five inches.
That's a number to keep in mind for any folding accessories you might have to make sure they don't make contact with the vehicle. Now for the weight capacities on this hitch, we have a gross trailer weight of 2,000 pounds. That's the amount of weight that you can pull behind the vehicle. And a maximum tongue weight of 200 pounds. That's the amount of weight pushing down on the rear of the vehicle.
Just be sure to double-check your owner's manual to ensure that your Chevy Trax can handle that weight safely. All in all, if you're looking for a Class III hitch for your Trax, this is really gonna be a great option for you. As far as the install goes, it's very simple. It's just a matter of fish wiring a few bolts through and having an extra set of hands to help you lift the weight of the hitch. So if it's not something that you think you can do, maybe you don't have the time or the space or the tools, feel free to check out our dealer locator. But if you are planning on getting this hitch installed yourself, feel free to follow along and I'll show you how we did ours. We'll begin our install under the vehicle here, working on our mounting points for the hitch. We'll see that we have a hole here and a hole here. Those are the holes that our bolts will come out of and we'll feed our fish wire up through this larger hole. But first, I have to cut some of this sealant out just to make our hitch sit more flush. So you can use a scraper or something like that, but I'm using a pocket knife, just working my way underneath it and then I'll peel some of it off. Now we're ready to get our hardware fish-wired in. You'll notice that you have two different size spacer blocks. We're gonna use the small one for the rearward hole back here and the larger one for that front hole. And we're going to begin with the rear, just to make it easier to get that second one started. So we will feed our coiled end into our hole here. Might help to put a bend in it. And we're gonna fish it towards our large hole back here. Might be able to kind of find it with your finger to assist it. This first one's a lot harder than the second one to get set up. Just keep trying to wiggle that fish wire around, and you should eventually get it. Once we get that fish wire worked through, we'll start off with our spacer block. Just gonna shove that up there for now. And then we'll thread on our carriage bolt. Put that threaded in, (metal clacking) push it through while pulling out on your fish wire. We'll get it out there. And that's the same process with the forward hole and the same process on the other side of the vehicle. (metal clacking) (metal clacking) For this step, it's a good idea to have an extra set of hands. I have my friend, Scott, here helping me. For the hardware, we have a conical tooth washer here. You'll want that to go first, with the teeth making contact with our hitch, and then cap that off with the nut. So we'll just lift this up into place. We'll probably have to work it up over that exhaust over there first. Get our fish wires fed through here. (metal clacking) And as we're lifting it up, just kind of pull on the fish wire and make sure you're not getting all tangled up. (metal clacking) Once you get your hardware lined up, (metal clacking continues) pull our fish wires out. (metal clacking continues) You can either thread 'em off or just pull 'em out. (metal clacking continues) And start with our conical tooth washer and our nut. (metal clacking continues) Once you get one threaded on, that should kinda hold everything into place. Now we'll get everything tightened down with an 11/16 socket. (metal clacking) (electric ratchet whirring) (electric ratchet whirring) Now we just need to torque everything down as a specification listed in the instructions. If you don't have your own torque wrench, we do have some available here at etrailer, or you can most likely rent one from your local auto parts store. I'll just go through each bolt and get them torqued out. (torque wrench beeps) (metal clacking) (torque wrench beeps) That's gonna do it for our look at and installation of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame trailer hitch on our 2025 Chevrolet Trax.
I and my wife installed the hitch in about an hour. No issues. Fit perfectly. Would have been faster but my wife couldn't figure out which way to turn the floor jack handle? 2025 Buick Envista.3287040
