Video Transcript for Installing the Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2025 Nissan Rogue

Hi, I'm Daniel with etrailer and today I'm gonna be installing the Blue Lock Hitch on our 2025 Nissan Rogue. A Nissan Rogue is a great smaller SUV that can do a lot of things, but installing that hitch lets it be able to do that much more by towing behind small trailers, having a bike rack or even having a cargo carrier. This has a nice low profile visual here on the Rogue, pretty far behind the bumper and you can't see the cross numbers here at all. It's all behind the fascia. And then the finish here is a nice shiny black, a little shinier than the bumper, but all in all looks great. Our hitch here has a two inch diameter that will fit two inch accessories.

It does also have a five eight inch hitch pin hole and it also has these safety chain loops that can accommodate an S hook or even a clevis. The maximum capacity you can tow with this hitch is 4,000 pounds, that is the trailer plus what is ever loaded on it, and the maximum capacity for tongue weight is 600 and that is the max weight that is pushing down on the hitch. Now let me give you a couple measurements that you may need to know. So from the ground to the top of your opening here is about 12 inches and from your pitch hole here from the outside of the bumper is about seven inches. Overall, the installation of this hitch is pretty straightforward.

They're all just six bolts that bolt right into the frame there. But if you don't have the time to do it yourself, feel free to go on etrailer.com and get on our dealer locator and we'll get someone who can do it for you. If you have any other questions at all, feel free to ask. But without further ado, let's get into the install. First off, we're gonna go ahead and lower this exhaust here.

There are three rubber isolators that we're gonna have to remove in total. I already did the driver's side and now I'm just gonna go ahead and do the passenger here. I sprayed it with some silicone just to make it a little easier to get off here. Before you remove that last one, just to make sure you have that exhaust supported so all that weight doesn't come down on it. Now I'm gonna go ahead and remove that last rubber isolator there.

Now I'm gonna go ahead and spray our holes here with that silicone spray and clean them out. Just make sure there's no dirt, debris in there so our screws can go in there nicely. Get some of these bolts hand tight where they need to go. Just so I know there's no burrs that's gonna hang me up when I do lift the hitch into place. We are ready to install our hitch. Just make sure when you're putting these washers on these bolts that the teeth are facing inward towards the frame of the car. Now this part is easy to put in there with a friend and you just want to slip it up over that muffler. Went ahead and put that middle one in first and then we can rotate it back and forth to find our hole for these two on the sides here. And then we went ahead and did that on both sides. I'm gonna go ahead and tighten all these down with a three-four socket. (impact whirring) So now I'm gonna go ahead and torque these bolts down. If you don't have a torque wrench at home, you can buy one from etrailer or usually you can rent them at a place near you. Now I'm gonna go ahead and toque them down to the specs in the instructions. And once you do that, make sure you and torque down all your bolts. Now once you've torqued them all down, you can go ahead and put your exhaust back up. And there you have it. As you can see, that install was very simple. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out here at etrailer. I'm Daniel. Thanks for watching.
