Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Paneloc slam latch. The slam latch is ideal for trailer and shed doors. Slam latches are very versatile and can be used for many different applications. This one's going to feature the spring-loaded pin with the angled tip. That's going to provide easy hands-free latching action. That angled design allows the pin to automatically retract when the door shuts. It's going to feature a square shape spring that's going to help ensure easy operation. The unit's constructed of a passivated stainless steel construction.
It's very strong and durable. It's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. You got the nice rubber handle cover that's secured on there with adhesive, so that's going to prevent the handle from slipping off. The handle provides simply an easy-grip designed making it easier to grab and control. A few measurements to go over with you real quick. We're going to take a look at just the body, so going this direction, measuring just the body is 2-7/8". Going side to side this direction, the body measures 2".
Then from bottom to top, the body measures about 1" to 1-1/16". When it comes to the dimensions of the pin, overall length from the tip to the back of the handle, that's going to give us a measurement of about 4-7/8" long, and that's a 1/2" square design. The extension on the unit, that's how far the pin extends from the body, at the tip there is 3/4". The mount holes are going to measure 1/4" in diameter. Center on center going this direction, they're separated by about 1-15/16". Going this direction, they're separated on center by about 1-3/8". Again, 1/4" diameter.
Mounting hardware not included. That's going to do it for today's look at the Paneloc's slam latch.

This item was purchased, for a pull out tray on one of our Fire Apparatus (at the Ann Arbor Fire Department). This will keep the pull out tray, from moving back and for, and striking the roll up door, while the apparatus is in motion.
