When you’re hauling tools, gear, or valuables that need to stay out of sight and out of the weather, this cover does the job. The RetraxPRO MX is built from 1" thick, impact-resistant aluminum slats that lock tight against the bed. Weather stripping and foam seals keep out rain, snow, and dust, and the cover overlaps the top of the tailgate to block water from getting inside. When it’s time to load up larger items, there’s no folding or removing panels. The manual retractable design slides open in seconds on sealed ball-bearing rollers, so you can use the full bed without effort or lubrication. The pop-up handle gives you smooth, one-handed control, and the cover can be latched at any point along the rails if you want part of the bed open for oversized cargo.
The RetraxPRO MX sits just 1" above the bed for a sleek, streamlined appearance that blends in instead of standing out. When retracted, it rolls into a canister at the bulkhead that takes up minimal space thanks to its angled bottom. That design leaves more room underneath for extra gear and keeps the cover shielded from the elements inside its housing.
Keeping your cargo safe is built into every part of this cover. The flush-mounted handle locks flat under a weather-guarded lid, hiding the keyhole from sight and keeping dirt out. Once closed, the aluminum slats can’t be pried up or cut through, and when used with a locked tailgate, the bed is fully secured. You can still open or close the tailgate independently without touching the cover for quick access.
The cover’s sealed bearings and spiral track system prevent it from binding or rubbing against itself, so operation stays smooth over time. Two drain tubes route water out through existing bed holes to keep the canister dry. Today we're going to be taking a look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover in matte black. You can upgrade your old tonneau cover and not have to worry about any snapping or hook and loop connections. The RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover is the best way to cover up your truck bed. One of it's great features is, it can be locked anywhere along the rails you please. It's perfect for keeping your gear dry, covering up that fifth wheel head and you can even use it to secure your elongated cargo. The latch itself doubles as a handle. When you're ready to lock it, it sits flush within the cover and you can lock it up with the included keys.
When you've done that you can put the cover over top. The whole thing rolls up into the flush mounted box for a low profile design. It only takes up about 12 inches of space behind your cab. It's a simple clamp on installation and the rails only sit about an 1-1/4" high on top of our truck bed rails. Here on the inside they take up about 1-3/4". The sealed ball bearing rollers within the cover make opening and closing easy.
And because they're sealed, they're maintenance free. The whole thing is made out of an industrial strength aluminum, it's gonna keep out the elements and it can support distributed loads of up to 500 pounds. When used with the locking tailgate, it's furthers your security. The whole thing is UV protected and it features a limited lifetime warranty. After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!
