Keeping tools or gear safe in the bed is a big deal. The RetraxONE MX solves that with a locking handle you can secure at any point along the rails. Once closed, it locks flush with the cover and stays hidden under a flat lid that shields the keyhole from dirt and moisture. When paired with your locked tailgate, it’s tough to beat for keeping cargo out of sight and protected from theft.
You don’t have to wrestle with straps or snaps every time you need to open the bed. The RetraxONE MX slides open with one hand using sealed ball-bearing rollers that never need lubrication. The cover glides evenly without binding or twisting, and the spiral track inside the canister keeps the panels from rubbing together, so it stays smooth and quiet each time you roll it open or closed.
Built from Lexan polycarbonate with 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams embedded every 4-3/4", this cover is tough enough to handle up to 200 lbs of evenly distributed weight. It holds up through heat, snow, and ice—from -50° to 200°F—without cracking, swelling, or fading. The matte black finish resists scratches and UV damage, while weather stripping and foam seals keep out rain, snow, and dust.
When rolled up, the cover disappears into a compact canister that sits at the front of the bed. The angled bottom design leaves extra room underneath for tools or smaller gear. Two included drain tubes route water out through factory holes, keeping the inside of the canister dry and mildew-free.
The side rails sit just 1" above the bed for a flush, streamlined look that blends in without bulk. Everything clamps on—no drilling required—and the rails align easily for a tight, even fit. Once installed, you get a simple, low-profile cover that improves aerodynamics, keeps weather out, and stays maintenance-free.

Connect the front cover below the rails, using the front cover mounting screws. Pull the protective film off the spiral canister. Apply the rubber washers to the drain tub fittings, and connect the drain tubes to the 1/2" holes located on the bottom of the spiral canister. Once you've assembled the Retrax cover, two people should work together to lift the cover onto the truck bed. Once the cover is in place, insure that the weather strip on the front of the cover is laid out properly on top of the bulkhead of the pickup, pointing toward the cab. Close the tailgate, and using the measurement tool that is supplied, measure 1/8" between the bottom notch of the rail and the inside face of the closed tailgate.
Next, install the clamps. Start with the locations closest to the canister. The clamps are mounted between the rail adjustment screws. Then attach the rear set of clamps. Once the cover is secure, direct the drain tubes so that they drain water out of the truck bed. Drain holes vary on different makes and models of trucks.
Once finished, open and close the cover, making sure that it is rolling without binding. If needed, turn the rail adjustment screws so rails remain parallel. Pull off the protective film, and double-check that the keys and lock work properly. Now that the Retrax Retractable Bed Cover has been installed, you're ready to take it out on the road.

Great Tonneau
Great cover, not a minutes trouble after a year on the truck.
Everything was on time and good quality. Easy to install, but you need to open the lock before installing the rail. If the lock is in the lock or down position the rail won’t go on. Other than that it was easy and it looks great on the truck!
A little challenging at first with the directions but with my neighbor helping we pulled through. 3-4 hours of slow methodical reading and working. Very nice product looks great and works as advertised.
The unit shipped to my location with over a months delay. This was too late for our last camping trip of2 2021, which I was counting on using it. I installed this year instead. Some of the tapped holes need to be re-tapped. Also, drain plugs were a little tricky in that the hose interfered with that latching mechanism, so they did not latch correctly at first. The roll-up into the box does not seem as smooth as the videos seem to show. Roll down to close is smooth.
We love this cover! I will most likely be ordering another one because unfortunately I got trapped in a terrible hail storm and the cover was damaged. No way any covered would have survived.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and durability. I like the ability to cover, lock and latch in partially closed position to help support large items. I'm sure I'm getting a little bit better gas mileage because of the drag reduction off the bed. The only drawback: the space that the canister takes up reduces your bed size. It hasn't impacted me yet as I have the larger bed size. If you have a bed extender, that will help. I definitely like the retractable better that the folding ones.

One year update: My RetraxONE MX still looks and performs good. For my application (fifth wheel protection) it was a good choice.
It is extremely hard to open and close even with grease on the rails and proper alignment.

This is my second Retrax poly cover. i had my first one for about 10 years and it worked well the entire time. I finally purchased a new truck and had to pick another cover and picked this one again for the quality and durability.

It is a nice cover over all, install was quick and easy. However, the cover is a bit flimsy. While sitting there you can see slight high and low spots from one slat yi the next. And while driving the cover moves quite a bit in the wind. Had I known this i would have just paid the extra for the aluminum version. Like I said, it's a nice cover over all it just needs to be a little more rigid.
