Video Transcript for Review of Performance Tool Tire Inflator - Tire Inflator - PT75NJ

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this performance tool, portable tire inflator. Ready for 150 PSI running on 12 volt power. So folks, again, 150 PSI, or pounds per square inch. It's got a nice heavy duty gauge right here on top to tell you that PSI as you're inflating and all that.

So the power, again, is going to run on a 12 volt accessory plug. They give you 10 feet length of cord, and a nice switch here to toggle on or off. And I'm gonna go ahead and plug this into a battery box that I have down here, just so you can kinda hear it run, and get the decimals, and that kinda thing. So I'll turn it on now. (inflator humming) So as you can see, it's not too loud, not too bad.

And you have the (indistinct) valve connection or the connection here to go on your tire valve there to inflate. You've also got two extra little sport and inflatable attachments, the needle there, those are kinda typical with any compressor you get nowadays, but you can use 'em for, you know, air mattress, maybe inflatables for the pool, and maybe some sports balls, and those kinda things. Now the air hose here is 18 inches long. And as far as some dimensions on the pump itself, as you can see, it's pretty small, or compressor rather. Overall on a length, I was getting five and a quarter inches long.

On a width, I got right at about three inches wide. And on a heighth up here, I got about four and three quarter inches tall. Now the whole thing, like I said, is pretty small weight, a little over a pound. So very lightweight, very compact. You can put it in a lot of different spaces inside your vehicle.

And again, you could use this maybe if you had a low tire, you need to a tire shop or a gas station quickly, you could inflate that tire and do so hopefully, depending on how bad the leak is. So again, nice little addition to anyone's vehicle. Small, portable, keep it outta the way. Hopefully you never need it, but if you do, you've got it and you're not stuck on the side of the road. That's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

  • Does Performance Tool Portable Tire Inflator Gauge Work Without Being Plugged In
Hey Jackie! The gauge on the Performance Tool Portable Tire Inflator # PT75NJ will work without plugging it into 12V power. You don't need another tire gauge if you don't mine pulling this out each time to check the pressure. Personally, I would pick up a small gauge like the # TMG-042-39 or # TM64SR you can toss in the glove box so you don't have to pull out the compressor anytime you want to check your tire pressure.

  • How Heavy Is The Portable Tire Inflator With LED Light PT85NJ? Light Enough For Teenager To Handle?
Grace, the # PT85NJ weighs right at 2 pounds, so it’s light enough for just about anyone to handle. It’s also compact about 9" by 7", so it won’t take up much space in her trunk. The built-in LED light helps if she ever has to use it after dark. Would you like me to compare this with the smaller # PT75NJ so you can decide which would be easier for her to use?

  • Portable 12v Air Compressor That Will Reach Rear Tires On Crew Cab Pickup Truck
Stan, the portable tire inflator # PT75NJ gives you a 10-foot power cord and an 18-inch air hose. For most crew cab trucks, that’s just long enough if you run the cord out a rear door. If you need to hit dual wheels or airbags, you might want to pair it with an air extension hose or valve stem extenders. Want me to show you some extension options that make it easier for dually setups in case that's what you have?

  • Comparing Portable Tire Inflator Pumps PT85NJ With Light And PT75NJ
Jason, here’s the breakdown: the # PT75NJ goes up to 150 psi and has a slightly longer air hose at 18 inches, while the # PT85NJ maxes out slightly lower, at 100 psi with a 15 inch hose. The big advantage of the # PT85NJ is that built-in LED for nighttime use. So if you need the higher-pressure range - say for truck or trailer tires - the # PT75NJ is the better fit. If you mainly use it on standard passenger vehicles and like the lighted work area, the # PT85NJ is going to do just fine. Which...

  • Car Tire Compressor And Gauge With Light And LCD Screen For Checking Tires In The Dark
Sam, the LED on the # PT85NJ is surprisingly handy and bright since it's modern LED and not incandescent. It’s built right into the unit so it lights up the tire valve area while you work. That’s nice not only for visibility, but also to alert passing cars if you’re pulled over at night. If you regularly find yourself checking pressures before sunrise, I’d lean toward the # PT85NJ over the # PT75NJ, since that light makes the job less stressful. Do you actually need a compressor, or just...

  • Small Portable Tire Inflator For 65psi Truck Tires And Other Aired Up Items
Yes Rob, the # PT75NJ has a max pressure of 150 psi, so topping off your truck tires at 65-70 psi is no problem. Just keep in mind this is a compact inflator, so it’ll take a little longer than a heavy-duty compressor to go from low to full. For quick top-offs though, it’s reliable and easy to plug right into your cab’s 12V outlet. That wouldn't take very long. Do you also plan on using it for sports gear or camping inflatables? It comes with adapters for those too. I've attached a video...

  • Comparing PT35VR Digital Tire Gauge To PT75NJ Portable 12V Tire Inflator
Hey Kevin! Yes, they serve different roles. The # PT75NJ is a standalone 12V compressor that actually inflates the tire. The # PT35VR, on the other hand, is a digital inflator/gauge. You still need an air source for the # PT35VR, but it gives you accurate readings, a bleed valve, and a core tool. A lot of people carry both: the # PT75NJ for emergencies on the road, and the # PT35VR for more precise checks and adjustments at home or on a trip. If you were to only pick one, it would have...

  • Portable Tire Inflator Compressor For 80psi Camper Tires
Lisa, you’ll want the # PT75NJ. The # PT85NJ tops out at 100 psi, so it could work in theory, but you’re right on the edge. The # PT75NJ gives you up to 150 psi capacity, which is much better suited for camper or trailer tires in the 65–80 psi range. The LED light on the # PT85NJ is nice, but in your case the higher pressure rating of the # PT75NJ is the safer pick. It not only does it easier, but quicker and with less strain on the pump and your vehicle's battery. Do you need to use a...

  • Does The Performance Tool Roadside Assistance Emergency Kit Included 12v Tire Inflator PT75NJ ?
Yes, Linda, the # PT60220 kit includes the same compact 12V 150 psi inflator as the # PT75NJ. It’s a nice bonus because you’re not just getting a bag of emergency tools, you’re also covered if you have a low tire on the roadside. It also includes a flashlight, slip joint pliers, bungee cords, screwdriver, gloves, snap blade knife, rain poncho, tire gauge, electrical tape, and cable ties. Do you currently have an emergency kit without a compressor, or just starting from nothing?

  • How Does Digital Tire Inflator Work With Air Compressor?
Carlos, the # PT35VR is different. Unlike the # PT75NJ and # PT85NJ - which are full 12V compressors that inflate tires on their own - the # PT35VR is a digital inflator gauge. You still need a compressor or air source, but it gives you a back-lit digital display, lets you bleed air down precisely, and even has a valve core removal tool built in. A lot of RV and truck owners use it alongside their bigger compressor for more accurate fills. It can work as a stand-alone tire gauge, or a filler...

  • Which Portable Tire Inflator Is Easier To Use And Keep In Wife's Car?
Mark, if your wife values speed and simplicity, the # PT75NJ is probably the friendlier choice since the press-on chuck attaches quicker. The # PT85NJ, on the other hand, adds a built-in LED light for nighttime use, but the screw-on chuck takes an extra step. Both plug right into the 12V outlet and will handle standard car tires, so it really comes down to whether she’d use the light often enough to outweigh that extra step. Do you think she’d benefit more from quick hook-up, or would...

  • Portable Air Compressor For Tires And Balls That Is Quiet And Not Obnoxious
Anita, the air compressor # PT75NJ has a steady hum, but it’s not excessively loud. In fact, when we tested it, it was quieter than a shop compressor and about like a small vacuum cleaner. You’ll definitely hear it, but it’s not jarring. Check out the video I attached; it's not extremely loud at all. Do you already an air compressor that is noisy, or what other items have you tested that are too loud for your neighborhood?
