Sam, the LED on the # PT85NJ is surprisingly handy and bright since it's modern LED and not incandescent. It’s built right into the unit so it lights up the tire valve area while you work. That’s nice not only for visibility, but also to alert passing cars if you’re pulled over at night. If you regularly find yourself checking pressures before sunrise, I’d lean toward the # PT85NJ over the # PT75NJ, since that light makes the job less stressful.

Do you actually need a compressor, or just a gauge to check in the morning before work? You may instead want the digital tire gauge # PT35VR. It can be used to check tires, or go inline between a compressor and the valve stem. It does have a blue lcd backlit display, so you'll see the reading in the dark too.
