Installation

1. Drape the chain over both tires of your dual-tire setup, making sure that the center chain is between the tires. (You can also lay the chain out and then drive onto it.)

2. Drive forward about 1/4 of a tire revolution.

3. Fasten the ends of the chain together.

4. Use the cam tensioning devices to tighten. Do this by inserting the flat end of the included wrench into the slot on each cam and twisting it.

5. Drive forward a bit and tighten the chain as needed.

You can use rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) to increase the tension on the chains for a tighter fit.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

  • Tire Chains for Dually 245/75-17 Tires on a 2011 Ford Super Duty
We have several options for dually tires, size 245/75-17: # TC4831CAM # TC4231CAM # TC4831 # TC4231 For any of these chains I also recommend rubber adjusters, # TCMA2. Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual for specific information on the use of tire chains. I have included a link to our help article on tire chains for you.

  • Dually Snow Chain Recommendation for Tire Size 245/75R17
For a set of dually chains confirmed to fit your 245/75R17 tires you would want the Titan chains part # TC4231CAM. These are a twist link set of chains that will provide excellent traction. There are no Pewag dually chains or square links confirmed to fit your size in a dually setup, but these chains will fit and work great.

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for Tire Sizes 245/75/R17 and 235/85R16
There are a few different styles of tire chains which have a different benefits. The V-bar chains are really great for icy conditions as they break up ice well. The square link chains are great for deep snow, and twist links are lower profile and rounder so they provide a smoother ride quality. Diamond pattern is also a bit smoother too since the links are angled across the tops of the tire. They also provide great turning traction too since the chain doesn't go perfectly across the top...

  • Recommended Tire Chains for a 2015 Ford F-350 Dually
In regards to using tire chains on a 2015 Ford F-350 Dually, it's always best to use chains on both tires as opposed to just the two outside ones. They will be a bit more challenging to install but the increases grip and traction will be worth it in the long haul. I recommend Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Dual Tires part # TC4231CAM which come with cam tighteners for easy tensioning.

  • Dual Rear Wheel Tire Chains Needed For Moving Truck

  • Recommended Snow Tire Chains for 2005 Ford F-350 Dually 4WD
For your Ford F-350 dually 4WD, you do not need to use snow tire chains on the front. I cannot access your owner's manual, but most manuals say not to use them on the front tires of a truck. I recommend the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Dual Tires - Ladder Pattern - Twist Link - 1 Axle Set # TC4231CAM if you have 245/75-17, 265/70-17, or 275/65-18 size dually tires. I also recommend the Titan Chain Multi-Arm Rubber Tire Chain Adjuster for Light Trucks - 1 Pair # TCMA2.

You will need the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Dual Tires # TC4221CAM for your 235/80-17 dually tires as the Chains # TC4231CAM you found are for larger wheels and tires.

  • Recommended Snow Chains for 255/85-16 Sized Dually Tires with 3/4 Inch Gap Inbetween
Your 255/85-16 sized tires are each about 10 inches wide. For 20 inches of tire plus roughly 3/4 of an inch in between I recommend a chain that will cover at a least a 21 inch tire. Both the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Dual Tires # TC4231 and # TC4231CAM (with cams) are designed for tires up to 22 inches. So these will both be a great fit. The difference of the two are going to be the cam fasteners of the # TC4231CAM chains. These will make the chains easier to install and tighten....

  • How Many Sets of Tire Chains Come with Titan Chain Snow for Dual Tires # TC4231CAM
The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Dual Tires # TC4231CAM comes with a set of 2 chains for two dually style rear wheel setups. It does kind of look like 4 sets of chains though for each side has basically two sets connected to make fitting over the dually wheel setup easy. So long story short...you get two sets of chains that cover all four tires on a dually axle.

  • Tire Chain Recommendations for a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 255/75-17 Tires
We do have numerous tire chains that will fit a 255/75-17 tire on your 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but the Konig 245 chains will not. I have included a link to all of the available chains that will fit your tire size. If you are looking for something that can be used on or off-road there are several options in this size. For your dually setup of tire size 245/70R19.5 the tire chain from Titan Chain # TC4231CAM is a confirmed fit and will work well. These are twist link chains which mean you'll get a smoother ride than a square or V-bar. The advantage to a V-bar like the part # TC4831CAM which are also a fit is that they work great in icy conditions as the V-bars break up the ice due to how sharp and pointy they are. Square link like part # PWE4228SC are for the deeper snow which require a bigger link...

There are indeed only snow tire chains and no other type of alternative for dually 245/70R19.5 and 255/70R22.5 tires. So there is going to be a bit of time involved with putting the chains on, but it can be made slightly easier by going with chains that have cam tightening on them already: - 245/70R19.5 Tires: Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Dual Tires # TC4231CAM - 255/70R22.5 Tires: Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w/ Cams for Dual Tires # TC4239CAM
