The plastic housing did not hold up well. After a bit of use, I began to see cracks, and the housing eventually broke around the mounting screws. I ended up doing away with the factory mounting screws and just through-bolted the unit to my tailgate. This product is an example of a great idea, but poorly executed with cheap plastic materials. I would not buy this again.
