I've had these nerf bars for about a year now. Installed on a 2024 Silverado 1500. They look nice and have been solid so far. They do hang down a bit too low away from the bottom of the truck cab. Wish they sit up an inch or two higher away from the ground. Overall I'm generally happy with them and give them 4 stars.
The bars were mostly easy to install. I didnt have a torque wrench handy but fortunately I was able to borrow one to finish the installation. They fit my Tacoma very well and look great on.
These arrived a day earlier than was told. The box was in good condition and all of the parts were included. The installation instructions were good and the online videos helped. I installed them right after they were delivered. The bars look really good, I'm surprised at only 3 mounts per side though. Kinda looks like it should have 4. They are solid and I'm expecting many years of use.

I'm an athletic 6ft male that feels less like an old man getting in and out of our 2025 GMC 3500 due to the steps.
Also,I keep a lot of dirt bike related items packed on the rear seat and floor. Having the step makes it possible to standing it, lean in and find what I need without having to take things out. Saves so much time and energy. I never would have thought about the step helping me other than getting in and out. It's a great "tool" to have.
Great set of side steps for the money. They dont stick out or down too much and give me a place to step in easier. Quickly shipped, arrived on great condition. Side steps themselves marked backwards (driver side rail had a "passenger" sticker on it. Human screw up, so trust the photos and your process. I tried the other side and it was spot on. Awesome addition to my truck. Second set of Westin nerf bars. My truck needed an update! Love the SS oval nrf bars. Original bars were the e-series and looked good for 7 years. Just needed a change and the bracket covers add that finished touch to the install.

The Westin Protraxx 4 nerf bars are a nicely made kit. The bars and brackets fit together very well in the factory rocker panel/sill location. All told when fully assembled, the kit looks nice and is very sturdy. It's a nice nerf bar kit. Just could use a few minor details corrected to make it a solid long term no-hassle installation.
The only functionality issue I found with the bar kit is that it seems the placement of the front door tread plates seems a bit too far forward. When you put your feet down to get out of the truck, it feels like the tread should be about 6 inches further rearward for your foot to land on. Placing your foot on the smooth bar is dicey, especially if wet, so you definitely want to step on the tread plates. Getting into the truck on the driver side, seems like the tread placement works OK since you put your forward foot up to the bar first.
Regarding assembly, it takes a bit of patience to get the brackets fitted into the proper locations and get the bolts started in the clip nuts. The hardware kit is a high quality collection of nuts, bolts and washers. However, I think the choice of button head socket screws for securing the bars to the brackets was for aesthetic purposes. The button heads are black zinc and shallow, smooth heads which limit exposure beneath the bar- a nice visual touch. But unfortunately the button heads are are FAR too easy to strip (the head, not the screw threads) when tightening them to the specified torque. Even with a brand new socket bit it was far too easy to booger the head when tightening them. So I chose to replace the button head screws after initial installation with common socket head screws (gray colored zinc-aluminum coated to help resist corrosion here in the rust belt midwest) and that'll avoid any major swearing should they need to be removed in the future. All the swearing is already taken care of now, after removing the stripped button heads with vise grips or a large extractor bit cut to size.
One fitment issue I had with my kit ('17 Silverado Crew Cab) is that some of the plastic covers for the hanging brackets do not align with the holes in the brackets themselves. I think Westin updated their kit with revised front and rear end brackets but the plastic covers remain universal and properly fit only the middle brackets. I had to trim the plastic covers with a razor knife in order for the mounting holes to work well. Without trimming, the plastic covers would interfere with the bracket and therefore they would not mount evenly on the bracket. Not a big deal to do. Just shouldn't be necessary.
As the instructions clearly state, you definitely need to occasionally treat the polished stainless with some wax or metal polish. Over time the bright finish will dull (and scratch- another reason not to step anywhere except the tread plates) and and show pinpoint rust spots. Yes, stainless actually rusts when it encounters nasty stuff like road deicing salt.
I put these on in about 2 hours ,just took my time,very happy with them,and got them for a price cheaper then anyone else was offering.No slipping in wet weather and the keep there shine. Thanks etrailer.
These fit my truck perfectly . Fairly easy installation. Just put them on today but seem to be of very good quality.
They Look good. The mounting brackets are to short. That makes the Nerf Bars to close to the Trucks body. Also, the Nerf Bars are setting at an angle toward the
body of the Truck as well. I have tried to adjust them with little results.
I do like the heavy-duty brackets.
