Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look together at these Carr Hoop II custom fit side steps. Now these are designed to fit your 1981 to 1996 Ford Bronco Full Size, and then your 1981 to 1996 F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350, the Regular Cab, the Supercab, and the Crew Cabs. Now in custom fit parts such as these steps, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if these steps will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. One other thing I wanted to mention right off the top here is you can either get these steps as a pair as I have 'em here on my table, or you can just get one step.
So whichever quantity is going to work best for you, just take the appropriate part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website and that will take you to the quantity that is going to work best for your particular application. Now these are a pair of stylish, rugged steps, and these are designed to make getting in and out of your vehicle a whole lot easier. Each step has a large flat surface with a non-slip diamond tread, so you're gonna feel stable and secure even in those wet or muddy conditions. The hoop style design is going to give them a tough off-road look that's going to pair well with your vehicle. And this has an XK3 Khromezone finish.
It's a chrome like finish. It's a double powder, a powder coat that's going to give it a sleek highend finish. That's going to also help protect against wear and corrosion. And I do like this finish, it's not like a glossy finish, but it's a really attractive finish that I think is gonna hold up really well. It's kind of like, I don't wanna say a dull aluminum look, but it's not overly flashy, which I really like.
So I think it makes the step look good, and again, I think it's gonna hold up really well for you. Now these steps are going to mount directly to your rocker panels. I'm gonna set this up here, try not to drop it here. And these are going to set directly up on your rocker panels using a multi mount system, which gonna help ensure a precise vehicle fit. Installation's gonna be pretty straightforward, so as you can see, these are going to mount the step right onto your rocker panel just like that.
So it's a really well thought out system to get these installed. So I don't think it's going to be complicated. I think it's overall, it's gonna be a pretty easy installation for you. And to help you along the installation. Not only are you gonna get all the necessary hardware, but also instructions to guide you through that installation process. Now the steps are built to last combining zinc plated steel with this aluminum alloy. They're gonna hold up really well against the elements and each step is going to measure, hopefully you can see this right at about seven inches wide on that step, and about 10 inches wide overall. And then the step is gonna be about 3 1/2 inches deep. And then each step is gonna give you about a five inch drop. So it's gonna give you that really nice, comfortable entry and exit. And they're strong, they're gonna support up to 500 pounds of weight. So you're gonna get these durable steps, whether you need two of them or just a single step, maybe like a replacement step. They're gonna be great looking, they're gonna add convenience and give you a really bold, attractive, rugged style to your vehicle. I finally installed the side steps that I bought from you guys. Check it out
I own a 1997 F250 crew cab truck. I got tired of wearing the driver seat down getting in and out without some type of step. I've always liked the "stirrup" style steps and was happy to stumble across your website. After seeing the actual product AND HARDWARE in the kit, I ordered immediately. The steps arrived several days later and I installed them that night. Very happy with the steps, shipping, and quality of the boxes they arrived in. Took me several minutes to get to the product as the boxes were secured so well. The hardware provided was perfect. I will order 2 more for my rear doors in the near future. Thank you!
Had to remove the rock slide to install which was no big deal, other then that installation was easy. Steps look great quality is great I really like that they don't stick out to far so I'm not hitting my shins. Will be adding some for rear doors soon.
The steps themselves are solid, and make getting in and out of our truck easier, esp. for older folks. I have a minor issue with the installation instructions, however. In the instructions, they state:
" 8. *REFER TO DIAGRAM “A” WIRE HARNESS. Remove the plastic cover that is holding the carpet down and move the wire harness out of the way before drilling out the hole for the next step as shown on the diagram. Do
this procedure for both sides of your vehicle, because the wire harness may be on either side."
There's insufficient space to move the wiring out of the way as the hole for the sheet metal screw ends up dead in the center of the channel , so I used a piece of angle iron slipped under the wiring to protect the harness while drilling the hole. Once I installed the screw, I realized that the sharp point of the screw would be rubbing against the harness, and would eventually cause a short. To prevent this, I slipped the extra 1/4" Nyloc nuts provided in the kit over the sharp end of the sheet metal screw as shown in the photo.
I realize that there's not much room to use another type of fastener and working around the harness is awkward, but I think the sheet metal screw should really be replaced with another fastener that doesn't present a hazard to the harness. A 1/4" Torx button head bolt inserted from the top would definitely be an improvement, for example.
Solid and simple installation, the right parts nothing missing. They look good and so much easier on my knees.

I bought these to replace an older set that had gotten damaged on my 1995 F150. The new pair seem well made. The installation instructions were easy to read and follow. They look great on my truck. After several attempts and weeks of delay I finally got the correct brackets. Not the best for my F150. Would not recommend these for Ford truck installation.
The title of the product says they are polished aluminum, and the pictures in the add show them as polished aluminum. But when I received them they were a cheap silver color paint, not polished aluminum as advertised. This is not what was described or shown by the add, and I am disappointed by the misleading add.
Shipping was fast and the items came well-packaged. The steps are well-made.

Item is not polished aluminum. Came spray painted silver, the listing picture looks like polished aluminum but the actual product is painted silver

These fit perfectly on my 97F250 your web site said they wouldn’t but the Carr website states they would and they did

Sorry to hear that, Nick. Is there a way you could send me pictures of what you received? Carr makes these with a XM3 Xtreme polished finish that won't rust, crack or peel, but also shouldn't look like cheap paint.
