1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today, we're gonna take a look at the Taskmaster 15 inch by six inch Trinity Series Black Machined Aluminum Trailer Wheel with a 5-on-4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this is an aluminum wheel. It's very durable, lightweight, and rustproof, and this is the Trinity Series, which is a five-fork spoke design in black with the machined silver accent you can see on the edge of the spokes, and even on the lip. Provides a nice, bold, sleek look. The glossy black enamel coating resists corrosion.
If you notice the center cap in the middle here, that is included, and what's nice with the center cap is it has this removable center plug here that'll allow you to grease your E/Z Lube Axles if you happen to have E/Z Lube Axles on your trailer. Those are the ones that have the grease zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and what's nice about those is you don't have to remove all your wheels and tires to grease your bearings. Basically, what you can do is just pop out the center plug here, put your grease gun in, pump the grease onto the zerk fitting on your spindle, remove it, pop the plug back in, you're ready to go, so you don't have to take off your wheels and tire. Also, if you notice right down here, it does include the valve stem, which isn't pre-installed. This wheel does meet the SAE J1204 standards.
A few dimensions on this, the diameter, it's 15 inches, and that's always measured inside-to-inside. So, just to show you, if we measure inside-to-inside, there's your 15 inch diameter. The width will be the same way. It's measured inside-to-inside of bead seat to bead seat. Six inches wide.
Now, the bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5-on-4 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and if you wanna measure that bolt pattern, that's an odd number of lugs, in this case five, what you'll need to do is just pick any lug hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes, but the trick is we measure it from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whichever hole you measure to. So, if we measure it on this wheel, it'll be 4 1/2 inches, so it's a 5-on-4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. This does use a wheel lug size of a 1/2 inch by 20. Pilot hole diameter right here, which is the large hole in the center of the wheel. This is what your center cap will go through.
Diameter of this opening is 3.19 inches, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,835 pounds. That should do it for a look at the Taskmaster 15 inch by six inch Trinity Series Black Machined Aluminum Trailer Wheel with a 5-on-4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

Great looking rims with the weight ratings I needed for the new 17.5” Cooper Works RHT2 tires. Great set up for heavy 5th wheel tires.
