This Triangle ST235/80R16 heavy-duty radial handles serious weight with confidence. It’s a Load Range G tire with a 14-ply rating and a maximum load of 4,080 lbs at 110 psi (single tire). Designed specifically for trailers, it meets DOT specifications and is rated to 75 mph?(speed rating L), giving you the strength and stability you need for long highway runs or heavy hauls.
When you’re putting on miles, tire construction makes all the difference. This model uses all-steel belts that reinforce the tread area, boosting durability and extending tread life. That design helps resist punctures and keeps the casing stable under heavy load pressure so you can tow with more confidence over time.
Radial ply construction puts the cords at 90 degrees to travel, which cuts down on internal friction and heat buildup. That means less rolling resistance, better tread life, and steadier tracking at higher speeds. It’s a smart design that keeps things cooler and smoother mile after mile compared to bias-ply setups.
You get solid backup right out of the gate. For the first 12 months, if this tire is damaged in any way, it’s replaced at no charge. That one-year worry-free guarantee makes it easy to put this tire straight into service knowing it’s covered.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Triangle ST235/80R16 Heavy Duty Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range G. Now, this Triangle Heavy Duty Special Trailer Radial Tire has an ST rating on it, which means special trailer tire design. This will couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire, and it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on other vehicles. It does use all-steel belts to enhance durability and extend the tread life.
And they do use a nice computer-generated tread design and premium rubber compounds materials to offer superior traction in wet or dry conditions. This does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. Now, the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right here, you'll see ST, for special trailer, 235/80R16. R means that it is a radial tire. Section width on this tire is gonna be 9.3".
Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 30.8". And this tire is a Load Range G, which means it's a 14-ply radial tire. So, the capacity on this, if it's used in a single tire application, is gonna be 4,080 pounds at 110 PSI. If it's used in a dual tire application, it'll be 3,640 pounds at 110 PSI. And the last thing I do wanna mention is they do stamp a speed rating on the tire, and where that speed rating is, it's stamped with a letter designation.
So, what you'll do is go right where we just went over the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then there's the letter L. Speed rating L will mean that this tire has a 75 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for the review on this Triangle ST235/80R16 Heavy Duty Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range G.
