This combo is made for serious hauling. The Provider ST235/80R16 radial tire carries up to 4,080 lbs at 110 psi with a Load Range G, so it’s built for bigger jobs and long highway runs. The M speed rating (81 mph) and radial construction with double steel belts and double polyester cords mean steady tracking and dependable heat resistance mile after mile.

You don’t have to take this setup to the shop first. Each tire and wheel is match mounted and balanced by Taskmaster before it ever ships out. That laser-guided process aligns the lightest part of the tire with the heaviest part of the wheel, then fine-tunes it with precision weights. The result is less vibration, less wear, and a smoother ride from the first turn of the road.
The 16" Vesper white modular steel wheel is finished to stand up to tough environments. It starts with a zinc phosphate bath for adhesion, followed by an e-coat primer, then a baked-on acrylic enamel top layer. That triple finish gives excellent corrosion protection—salt spray rated for more than 1,000 hours—while resisting chips better than standard powder coats.
Loose lug nuts are no friend to longevity. This wheel’s raised center disc and beveled, uncoated stud holes use Improved Torque Retention (ITR) technology to keep clamp force consistent so the wheel stays securely seated without constant retightening. It’s a small detail that adds real peace of mind on long hauls.

Every assembly comes backed by a 2-Year Platinum Plus warranty that includes 24/7 roadside assistance for emergency tire changes using your existing spare. It’s support you hope you’ll never need—but it’s there if you do, adding another layer of confidence to an already capable setup.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Jeff: Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range G on this 16" Vesper White Modular Wheel. This also has an 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern. Now this time we have some of this ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. It's a nice heavy-duty steered sturdy steel wheel. It has a modular design.
And when we say modular design, that's one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel. Now this wheel has a white acrylic enamel finished, or this chipping, the damage, it's better than the powder coat finishes. The finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and then it covers an e-coat primer layer, gives you excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1000 hours. And this wheel does use the ITR technology, which is Improved Torque Retention. This is designed to help keep the wheels securely in place on your trailer. It does use the uncoated stud holes, which are beveled off for better clamp force retention.
And the tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life. It's great for highway use and they do use nylon tread-firming belt overlays around the tire to help prevent tread separation. It does use the tread depth bars like you'll see in passenger car tires that give you a quick visual indication of how the tread is wearing. And this tire is bake tested to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.
It is an ST design, which means Special Trailer tire design. And so a couple of the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. And it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on any other vehicles. It does come with a two year Platinum Plus warranty, which includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And the assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and it exceeds the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Few specs on this for the wheel, the diameter is 16", the width on just the wheel is six inches wide, bolt pattern on this is a 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern.
And it does use a wheel lug size of a 0.5" x 20" or 9/16" x 18". The weight capacity on the wheel is 4,460 pounds, and the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, goes over the hub on your trailer is 4.88". The tire's size, which is stamped on the tire ST for Special Trailer, 235/80R16.The R means that it's a Radial design tire. Section width on it is 9.3". Overall diameter from the bottom to the very top when it's inflated is 30.8". And this is a low tire, is a load range G which means it's a 14 ply rated tire. So it does have a maximum load capacity of 4,080 pounds at 110 PSI. And the last thing I do want to mention is all the trailer tires now are coming through with speed ratings on them. And where the speed rating is, is that so, speed rating is always designated by a letter designation. So if you go right through or after the size we just went through, at the very end of it, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then the letter M. Letter M or speed rating M will mean that this tire has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. But that should do it for the review on the provider ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire in a load range G on a 16" Vesper White Modular Wheel with the 8 on 6.5" bolt pattern.

Good quality, fast free shipping, prompt delivery. Very happy
Nice Wheel and tire combo. They look really nice on my utility trailer. Shipping was quick.
Etrailer.com delivered radial trailer tires FAST.
Delivered to my door, accurate description, fully inflated, ready to put on trailer.
Great shopping experience. Thanks etrailer, and thanks Joshua B for the follow-up.
Bought it for a Spare tire. Tire was made Oct.2024 and I got the wheel/tire May 2026. No worries….. it’s a spare tire.
Tires came as promised. I have not installed them as of yet, but i really like the look. They should look great on my restored 1994 Starcraft popup. Can't wait to get it on the road again. Hopefully the end of July.
Great product selection and wonderful customer service. I especially liked the frequent updates on my order status.
Light, sturdy feeling, perfect pressure straight out of the box. Honestly this was my first time ordering any kind of tire online so i was a bit paranoid. But the vehicle selector narrowed down the search to this beauty. Fits like a glove on my old 2005 jayco jay series. while its too early for me to rate its longevity, i find the product feel reassuring.
On the first trip with these tires and wheels, All wheel weights broke off. Will have to have these balanced again. Tires and wheels are as expected
When the tires arrived, the hubs had a few stretches on them which I assume it from mounting the tires. I installed them and drove around the block. Even though it was a short drive, they seemed to be a much better upgrade than the bias ply tires I had on the trailer.
I also should add that I bought these because of the highway rating as I will be hauling my motorcycle to NY this summer.
UPS driver put the tire box at my back gate and was very kind to do so. I’ve ordered 5 new tire/rims for an Alaska trip and and a spare for my cargo trailer in the past. This tire will be a spare on my new trailer.
The 2 Provider Tires on Vespar rims are in excellent condition, mounted good and look in excellent condition.
They both arrived on time without damage, and customer service people were taking care of me by being upfront honest and respectfull.
Good job everyone at etrailer!
Excellent looking wheels and tires! The wheels are flawless - no scratches or chips.
I put these on a small utility trailer that I expanded for hauling my kayak and jon boat. The gross weight is very light so I reduced my tire pressure to about 75psi and took the trailer for its maiden test drive this past weekend. Handles great in town. It did 75-80mph on the highway no problem.
Many thanks to Sarah S for her assistance with my order. I could not be happier right now.
Side note, I also installed the Counteract Balancing beads (CA68VR).
Arrived on time and in good condition
Arrived fast, exactly as described, priced better than I could find anywhere else.
Perfect condition, delivered very quickly. Will continue to buy parts from E trailer.
Awesome shipping really fast and look g reat
That was some of the fastest shipping I have ever seen.
I know the tires are good quality because I’ve bought them before, but that shipping was FAST.
Great tires, got them for a tandem 6ton trailer. One running and one spare. Was back ordered, but came ASAP earlier than expected. Definitely recommend and will purchase again.
