1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

And today we're gonna take a look at this Kenda Carriers ST225 75R15 load range D Radial trailer tire, with this 15-inch aluminum wheel, with a 6 on 5 1/2-inch bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is going to be ideal for your RVs, campers, and trailers. This special trailer tire or ST tire has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads and it is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. This Radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and full nylon plies that combine for superior function and long life. This tire features a computer generated tread design and premium rubber compound materials giving you superior traction in wet or dry conditions.
Now as you probably know, Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a Radial tire are positioned at a 90 degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes unlike the cords on a Bias ply tire. So as a result, Radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improves steering at higher speeds. Now as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire this is an SST 225 75R15.
The section width is 8.6 inches, and the outer diameter when this is fully inflated is 28.5 inches. This is a load range D, meaning it has an eight ply rating and the maximum load is 2,540 pounds at 65 psi. This does have a speed rating of M indicating a maximum speed of 81 miles per hour. Now this durable black corrosion resistant aluminum wheel is clear coded on the front and as you can see it features this five open spoke design with the machined face on the spokes of the wheels, very attractive and very eye-catching design. And this aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug nut wells.
Those inserts are actually pressed into the aluminum and they help prevent the holes from wearing down over time. This is going to ensure that the wheel stays secure to your trailer hub, and you're not gonna have to constantly retort the lug nuts. Now the dimensions on this rim measuring the diameter first from bead seat to bead seat, we're sitting at 15 inches in diameter and it is six inches wide. And as I mentioned, the bolt pattern is six on five and a half inches. And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you're simply going to measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the other hole directly across from it. Now the wheel capacity is 2,960 pounds. The wheel stud size is a half an inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately but if you decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.74 inches. put them on and fit great and ready for a road trip only to find out these are not balanced, drove 30 miles and they put vibrations through out my trailer and truck (Duramax 3500) so i will have to spend extra money to get them balanced before next use

Very please with the look of these tires and wheels. Easy swap with the old tires and wheels. Looks like a new rig. The only thing to be aware of is the thickness of these wheels. If you are switching from original factory steel wheels, make sure you have enough thread length to get the new wheels firmly attached.

They are a great match for the factory rims on my 2023 Bass Tracker 195. The only suggestion I would like to offer is sticker to identify the tire and rim be put on the tread NOT the sidewall.

This is easily an5 Star wheel and tire and shopping at Etrailer.com is always a 5 star business but this is the third tire/wheel I have purchased that has these big white labels stuck to outward facing tire wall and they are impossible to remove. Please put in rear of tire or find new label glue!!

ETrailer has great shipping and boxes with tires were well boxed and appears no damage, trial fit one tire which went on well and looks like I’ll need lug nuts which I asked about but since ETrailer doesn’t give discounts to Veterans, I figured I would buy elsewhere. The tires, great appearance, great date code on tire! The gray rims were WAY lighter in color than what ETrailers pictures show online, I really wanted darker to match the boat more but they still look nice and appear to be a great set but if you buy these, the gray is much lighter in person than online! Overall, yea it’s not a bad price for combo, it provides ease of one stop shop but sorry, your Company could be a little more relaxed at least offering a small discount to veterans… 10% is not gonna affect ETrailers profit or margin!
