Built for long hauls and full loads, the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 radial tire carries a maximum load of 3,500 lbs at 90 psi. Its Load Range E, 10-ply rating, and M speed rating (81 mph) deliver the strength and stability needed for high-speed towing on the highway. The double steel belts and full nylon plies help it stay cool under pressure, providing dependable performance even on extended trips.
Unlike bias tires that build heat and wear faster at speed, this radial design keeps its shape and runs cooler. The cords inside the tire sit at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel, which reduces friction and rolling resistance. That means a smoother, quieter ride with better tread life and steady handling whether it’s wet or dry out.
Road salt, humidity, or coastal air—this wheel is ready for it all. The 16" x 7" aluminum wheel resists rust and corrosion thanks to its matte-black clear-coat finish on both sides. It’s lightweight yet strong, rated for 3,750 lbs with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern and a 3.75" pilot diameter. The mesh design adds durability and gives the setup a clean, sharp look that holds up over time.
No mounting shop needed—this assembly arrives already mounted and meeting DOT specifications. Just bolt it on and go, knowing the setup is balanced and built for dependable use. It’s an ideal way to refresh or upgrade a trailer with components designed to perform right out of the box.
For the first year of use, any damage to this tire is covered by Kenda’s worry-free guarantee—it will be replaced at no charge. That kind of coverage adds real confidence when you’re putting serious miles on your trailer.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 radial trailer tire in a load range E mounted on this 16 inch matte black aluminum wheel with the 6 on 5.5 inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. The wheel is a Sendel Series T17 aluminum wheel. This is a mesh style design wheel that has a matte black finish to it. Also, if you notice the front of the wheel and even the back of the wheel are clear coated for protection.
Now, the center cap is not included. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website. You do wanna order one that will have the diameter of this pilot hole that it'll fit through. So when you install your center cap, it goes through this hole. So the diameter of this pilot hole is 3.75 inches.
The diameter on the wheel is gonna be 16 inches. The width on just the wheel is seven inches wide. Now, this wheel does have a bolt pattern of 6 on 5.5 inches. And if you wanna measure that on the wheel that's an even amount of lugs, it's pretty easy because if you notice the lug holes are directly across from each other. So you just pick any of the holes, let's say this one, and then you'll measure directly across to the hole right across from it center to center.
On this, it'll measure 5-1/2 inches. So you have a six-lug 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. So let's you use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20 or 9/16 by 18. And the weight capacity on just the wheel is 3,750 pounds. The tire is a Kenda Karrier special trailer radial tire.
It is a special trailer design because it'll couple the strength of a bias tire with the durability and stability of a radial tire. And it is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. Does use double steel belts and full nylon plies, which combine for superior function and long life. If you look at the tread, it is a nice computer-generated tread design with premium rubber compound materials that give you superior traction in wet or dry conditions. Now the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, right up here, it'll be ST for special trailer 235/80R16. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width 9.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top where it's inflated is 30.8 inches. And this is a load range E tire, which means it has a 10 ply rating, has a maximum load of 3,500 pounds at 90 PSI. And one of the last things I wanna mention, most all your new trailer tires are coming through with speed rating stamped on them and it's stamped with a letter designation. And where you'll find that is right after the tire size we went over, you'll see two numbers for the load index and then a letter M at the very end. That speed rating M will mean it has an 81 mile per hour speed rating. And this assembly does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications. But that should do it for the review on the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 radial trailer tire in the load range E on a 16 inch matte black aluminum wheel.

Exactly what I needed and quick deliver y.
Excellent product excellent service. Thank you very much.
The process was not pleasant. Shipping took much longer than originally quoted. Don’t believe the shipping dates that are provided. They are not accurate and customer service doesn’t care about you once you have placed your order.
I bought a smoker trailer and after looking at the tires I found that they were rated for 500 lbs each without a spare. Etrailer had the resources to determine what I needed and then gave me options for what I wanted. Fresh wheels and tires provided the safety I needed. Thank you.
Mounted these on my single axle camper.
No issues after 10,000 miles.
It has been one year since purchasing these wheels and tires.
Product originally arrived as described and on schedule.
Mounted on a 4,000lb single axle Toy Hauler.
So far, have towed about 10,000 miles without incident.
Stable and consistent. So far, all good.
