Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CE Smith seven and three quarter inch long curved equalizer for one in three quarter inch wide double-eye springs. And this has a galvanized finish to it. Now this will let you connect your double-eye springs on a dual or triple axle trailer. The springs attached to the ends of the equalizers with shackle straps and the equalizer is then suspended from the center hanger.
Now this will transfer load and sudden impacts from one axle to another by permitting movement between the axles, helps distribute the weight evenly. Results in a nice smooth ride for your trailer. Now I do mention the galvanized finish on this steel part 'cause that's gonna help resist corrosion when this part is used in marine applications like on your boat trailer. As we mentioned, these are designed to fit one and three quarter inch wide double-eye leaf springs with the nine sixteenths inch diameter spring eyes. Now the center bolt hole and the hangar bolt holes do have the bushings installed in them and they are all a nine 16ths inch diameter.
A few measurements, we're gonna measure the distance between the left and the right bolt holes for the hangers center to center. So you can see if we get the ruler and if we go center to center, there's your seven and three quarter inch measurement. The height measured from the shackle bolt hole to the center of the hangar bolt holes. You can see if we go down, you can see that's gonna be right at about three inches for the height.
