Video Transcript for Review of Peterson Trailer Lights - Submersible Round LumenX LED Clearance Side Marker - PET44JV

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Peterson Submersible Round LumenX LED Clearance and Side Marker Trailer Light. Now, this LED trailer light is going to function as both a clearance and side marker light when properly mounted. It does not require top-mount position to meet the Department of Transportation requirements for PC rating. Now, as you can see, even with my bright studio lights on here, I have this connected to power. You can see just how bright this is, even with my lights on, but lemme go ahead and turn my studio lights off here while we're close up just to give you a better idea of what this is gonna look like in low light or dark conditions.

LumenX optics creates a solid panel of light that's going to light up the entire lens, as you can see. And as you know, LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last up to 50 times longer. They're more efficient, they give you brighter light with less power output, so no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments to worry about. And I'm gonna go ahead and zoom out just to show you what this is gonna look like from a distance, and while I keep my wires together here, lemme just see if I can shine this on the wall behind me just to kind of give you an idea of how much light this is going to actually emit outwards.

So, the regulated design is going to ensure consistent light output, it's gonna prevent overheating. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my lights back on, go back in for a closeup again, and then lemme go ahead and disconnect the power so I'm not continuing to blind you here. And now, this does have a red lens over five LEDs. It's sealed, so that's gonna make this waterproof and submersible. It's gonna be very durable.

Lemme get my ruler here, go over some measurements with you. So, looking at the overall diameter, lining that up there, right at two inches, as you can see, and then including the socket, about an inch and a half deep. And if you don't have one, we do carry the recessed mount with black PVC grommet, and you can find that on the Related Product Section on this product page, and the model number of that is 146-18. And this does, as you can see, accept the industry standard two-pronged plug. If you are also in need of that, that's model number 142-49.

So, again, for that PVC grommet, it's 146-18, and for the two-prong plug, it's 142-49. So, this will be compatible with your 12-volt DC systems. It is DOT-compliant, and it does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 108 requirement for automotive lighting and it is PC-rated. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today.
