This 2-1/2" round amber light uses 7 LEDs that shine bright while drawing only 0.057 amps at 12.8V. It replaces old incandescent lights that burn out or dim over time with a clean, powerful light that’s easier to see and more efficient to run. There are no filaments to break and no bulbs to swap—just steady, reliable light that lasts up to 50 times longer than traditional options.
The housing and amber lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit, so water can’t sneak in and ruin the diodes or wiring. It’s built for trailers that see wet roads or frequent submersion, giving you confidence that it’ll keep working even after dunking at the ramp or through heavy rain.
This PC-rated design spreads light in a full 180-degree pattern—visible from the front, side, and rear when properly mounted. That wide beam makes it easier for other drivers to see your trailer from multiple angles, improving safety at night or in low visibility conditions.
A rugged polycarbonate housing and lens protect the LED circuit board from shock and vibration. The surface-mount technology (SMT) construction helps with heat distribution and reliability, so bumps and jolts won’t knock out your light. It’s DOT compliant and ready for steady use wherever you go.
You can recess mount or flush mount this light using standard grommets (sold separately) and a common 2-prong PL-10 plug connection. That means it works with existing setups without rewiring or drilling new holes—making installation fast and tidy.

Today on our equipment trailer, we're going to be installing the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2" Round LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light in the amber color, part number MCL58AB. Now today we're going to be replacing the incandescent lights with these new LED lights from Optronics. Now, we'll be reusing this rubber grommet as well as the wiring harness that's connected to the back of this tail light. If your trailer does not have existing lights there, there are a couple other items that you will need in order to install this new Optronics light. You'll need a 2-1/2" round grommet, in a flush mount design with an open back. That's part number A55GB.
You'll also need a plug that goes into the back side of the light. This is a two wire pigtail for sealed trailer clearance or side marker lights. That's part number A46PB. Just for comparison, we're going to go ahead and turn on this incandescent light so you can see what it looks like. Once we install our new Optronics light, we'll turn it on again so you can have a comparison. Now we'll go ahead and turn on our running lights.
You can see here how the light is functioning, but yet it's not quite as bright as the new LED lights will be. Now let's go ahead and show you how to change out the lights. Now to begin with we're going to need to disconnect the electrical connector here on the back side. Go ahead and grab it and work it loose. It looks something like that.
Next we'll go ahead and reach behind the light here. Gently push it out of the rubber grommet. As you can see here, this one's pretty full of dirt and debris. So now's a good time to go ahead and pull the rubber grommet out and clean it out before we install the new running light. Go ahead and reinstall our grommet. Just simply work it into the body of the trailer like that.
It will have a little bit of movement and that is okay. We'll then take our new Optronics light. We need to peel the cover off of the prongs. You will notice that there's a little bit of dielectric grease already installed in the fittings. This will help protect the connection points and keep them from corroding over time. Go ahead and take the light, and work it into the rubber grommet like that. We can then go ahead and take our plug, lining up the two tabs with the two locations on the back side of the light. Go ahead and press in firmly. You may want to hold the front side of the light to keep from pushing it back through or out of the grommet. Also, when pushing on the wiring harness you may need to slight rock it back and forth a little to get it to fully seat into the light. Now that we've got our connection point made, we'll go ahead and turn the running lights on again for us so you can see the difference with the new LED light installed. You'll notice how much brighter the LED light is over the incandescent bulb. With that, that will conclude our installation of the Optronics Sealed 2-1/2" Round LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light with 7 Diodes, and in the amber color, part number MCL58AB, as installed on our equipment trailer. .
Ratings & Reviews
The light works excellent. Unfortunately after I took the old one off I realized that the original was never wired up correctly from the factory lol. New light is much brighter so I might go ahead and replace the other two. Received very quickly.
These Optronic LED lites were exactly what I was looking for my boat trailer. Easy install and very bright. Good product and quick shipping. I highly recommend this company.
Looks Great not installed yet

I bought LED trailer lights. I found these at a good price and experienced great service. Thanks!
Very bright LED
Arrived on time and work great.
Over two years with these on my milk tank. Out of 25 of them I’ve replaced 16 of them. Very bright lights but they take in moisture and diodes start going out.
Perfectly sized for the cutouts on my fenders and frame!
Very bright, six LED lamp. Less than one hour to replace nine grommets and lamps.
These are bright LED lights. Love them!
Great bright lights. My quad axle milk tank has 25 of them and in the past year I’ve had several leak in water, and have diodes fail. Love the lights otherwise. They’re supposed to be submersible so once I get a few changed out hopefully I quit having water issues.
These lights are awesome. Super bright and they've been completely submerged in muddy water repeatedly and they're still just as good as they were on day one. Highly recommended for off-road vehicles or vehicles that see a lot of abuse.
We love the brightness of these led marker/clearance lights!
What a difference from my stock market lights !!
