Older bulbs can fade or fail after just a few seasons, but this 4" x 2" rectangular LED light is built to last. It uses 16 LEDs that put out a brighter, cleaner amber light while drawing less power than incandescent bulbs. There are no fragile filaments or bulbs to replace, so you can count on consistent brightness and longer service life. It runs on a standard 12V DC system and keeps amperage draw low, even when used in sets.
Moisture and corrosion are common problems on trailers, especially when they’re used around water. This light is sealed from front to back, including the circuit board and LED wiring, making it completely waterproof and submersible. You don’t need an extra gasket because the housing and lens form a single watertight unit. For wiring that enters through the wall, a little silicone around the hole keeps everything sealed tight.
Visibility means safety on the road, and this P2-rated light delivers a controlled 90-degree beam pattern—45 degrees to each side of centerline. That makes it ideal for use as either a side marker or a clearance light when you want bright, DOT-compliant performance that meets federal lighting standards. The amber lens over white LEDs gives off a crisp glow that’s easy to see even in low light conditions.
Swapping out old lights shouldn’t be complicated. This one mounts directly on the surface of your trailer using standard hardware (not included), with 3" between mounting holes center to center. The two-wire pigtail—power lead and ground wire—keeps installation straightforward. With its durable polycarbonate lens and housing, it’s ready for daily use without needing extra pieces or constant upkeep.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Custer Submersible Amber Lens LED Side Marker or Clearance Trailer Light. With this little waterproof LED trailer light, you are gonna be able to haul safer by alerting other drivers of your trailer's position and direction of travel. This trailer light functions as a side marker or clearance light, and as you can see, I already have this connected to 12 volt power. And let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off just to kinda give you a better idea of what this is gonna look like in the dark. The 16 white LEDs can last 50 times longer than incandescent lights, they're more efficient, they provide brighter light with less power output, and there's no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments. Now, this is a P2 rated light, meaning it produces a 45 degree angle of light to either side of its center line for a total of 90 degrees of coverage.
This beam pattern can be seen straight on, but it cannot be seen clearly from the side, so this type of light can either be used as a side marker light or a clearance light, but it cannot function as both. If you need both functions, then you must install two separate lights on your trailer, one as a front or rear clearance light and one as a side marker light. Now, as you can see, this does a great job of putting out quite a bit of light. Let me go to my wide camera here, and let me just shine this on the wall behind me. Again, that just kinda gives you an idea of the kind of light that it throws out or casts, and let me go ahead and go back to my close up, and let me go ahead and turn my studio lights back on, and even with studio lights on, you can see it's a pretty bright light.
Now, this light features a sealed waterproof housing and lens unit that is submersible. It has this durable polycarbonate housing as you can see here, and this snap-in amber lens, and as you can see, those goes over these 16 white LEDs. Now, this will mount on the surface of your trailer. It is important to note that hardware is not included, so that is something that you're gonna have to source locally for yourself. And this is a two pigtail wire installation, and in the case of this light, it doesn't matter which wire is power and which one is ground, so those wires are interchangeable.
I'm putting this lens back on, so it doesn't fall all over the place, there we go. And let me give you some overall measurements. By the way, this is DOT compliant, and again, it is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. And the overall length of this light, it's easier just to measure it here from the rear, it looks like we're sitting right at four inches long by two inches wide or tall, however you'd like to describe that, and then in regards to the thickness, we're sitting right at about an inch and eighth thick at the thickest point here, which is right here, inch and an eighth. And then the distance between these mounting holes, center to center, we're sitting right at three inches.
Again, this is obviously amber in color, but we do also provide the same light, same specs in red, and you can find that red one on our website using item number CPL120R. Bright, high quality and waterproof. Probably the best quality replacement for running lights of similar size. My only complaint is that there is no base plate. The light is exactly as shown in the photo. But, since there are no replaceable bulbs, I guess it isn't necessary.

Excellent. This has to fit into a rubber gasket between the light and the trailer fender. If the size is even slightly off it won't work.
These are really nice marker light for a replacement on oour motohome.
The light works fine, but it did not come with the hardware to install it. It doesn't help having the light working fine on the workbench when there is no way to attached it to the trailer.
Look great and work like a charm
Perfect replacement size for broken light made for easy install. Very bright. Did not review quickly due to waiting to actually submerse the light. Id is indeed submersible and is noticeably brighter than the original light on my boat trailer. And shipping was impressively quick. Thank You!

No hardware is included. Pop the lens off, hardwire your wires, install with self tapping screws, then replace the lens.
