Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this RV Refrigerator Roof Vent Cap and Base. This is going to allow heat generated from your refrigerator to escape from the interior of your camper, as you know heat rises. So you'll install this on the roof of your RV over the refrigerator. So as that refrigerator produces heat, and that heat will rise and be able to make its way out of your RV. So it's gonna help keep your RV a little bit cooler.
This is going to fit your 23 and three eights of an inch long, by six and a half inch wide cutout opening. This will push up from the inside of your RV, and you'll have these holes here that you'll be able to put your hardware through, to hold this to the ceiling of your RV kitchen or above your refrigerator. And then on top of the RV, you'll have this white cap that will sit down on there to help prevent anything from getting in. It does have these holes on the side here that will allow that air to vent out, kinda like a chimney. So very, very easy to get installed and in place.
You can see it does have this wire mesh screen here just in case anything we're to get in these small holes on top. It's gonna provide a little extra protection, keep debris out from your RV. So this is gonna be the white option. So, if you have a white air conditioner and other white vents, this will match really well on top of your RV. If you do have a black roof vents and that sort of thing, we do also have a black option.
It's the exact same thing, same cutout dimensions and everything, it's just black. So get the one that's gonna work best for your situation. This is a nice sturdy plastic construction. So you're not gonna have to worry about rust or corrosion. It will be very, very easy to get installed and help to dissipate that heat so that you're not having to cool down your RV anymore than you have to, use up more electricity and whatnot.
Like I said, the hardware is not included with this. You probably will want to use some self leveling sealant and that sort of thing to get it all water tight and whatnot, on your RV roof. All of that is sold separately, but we do have lots of options available for you here at etrailer.com. So make sure that you're getting everything that you need. Exact drop-in replacement for my hail-damaged Dometic 3311236 fridge roof vent cap. Very pleased. (I installed only the new cap on my old base, and it fit perfectly.)
I understand that Mounting hardware not included as noted in your description, but I would think that the four screws for the top to be matched with the base would be included. What size should I use so I don't crack the flimsy plastic?

We have a few different kits that have the screws that would fit. Part # CAM25003 is for metal walls or roofing. Part # 344270KITW works for surfaces such as aluminum, brass, steel, glass, mortar, wood, PVC, EPDM, TPO, and TPV.

Five stars for what I got. I would think they would include the 4 screws to hold the top onto the base since the originals were sealed in the top with caulk.

Hurricane Milton tore the refrigerator vent off my 1972 Shasta Compact. The part description of this part made it appear to me that I could adapt it to work as a replacement. I was wrong. In the end I threw it away. I 3d printed a replacement.
It’s working well and looks good.
This is an OEM product for my RV. Works exactly as expected. Arrived on time. The previous one was destroyed by sunlight, so this one got four cats of marine enamel before installation. Ultra-violet rays are the worst enemy of plastic. Except for tree branches... they can wreak havoc as well! Protecting the plastic from UV rays ensures a longer product life.

With the four coats of marine enamel protecting it from the sun, this vent cap looks as good as the day I installed it. Protecting the plastic from the UV rays is key.
