This actuator is built to handle serious weight. With a 20,000-lb capacity and a 2,000-lb maximum tongue weight, it’s ready for heavy-duty towing. The standard 2-5/16" ball coupler gives you a strong, secure connection that won’t flex or loosen under load. It’s a solid match for hauling large utility, construction, or travel trailers without losing braking performance.
The hydraulic surge setup automatically syncs with your tow vehicle’s brakes, giving you smooth, consistent stopping power. As the trailer pushes forward during braking, the actuator telescopes to apply pressure to the master cylinder. That pressure feeds your disc brakes evenly for reliable control on long grades or quick stops. There’s no jerking or delay—just steady braking that feels natural.
Everything about this unit is designed for strength and durability. The sturdy steel housing resists bending even if your trailer jackknifes, while the internal roller design keeps the actuator moving straight and true without binding. That means easier operation and less wear over time. It’s built to stay solid through years of tough towing.
This actuator comes primed and ready for welding to a 3"-wide channel tongue. The clean primer layer makes it simple to weld securely in place and provides the perfect base for paint if you want to match your trailer later. Once it’s on, there’s nothing extra to bolt or adjust—just a clean, factory-fit look that stays put mile after mile.
A built-in breakaway kit adds another layer of protection by activating your trailer brakes if it ever disconnects from the tow vehicle. It’s simple but effective peace of mind for anyone towing heavy loads down steep grades or across rough ground.

Today we're going to take a look at the Titan Weld-On Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes. As a coupler, it's a 2 5/16" diameter hitch ball and has a 20,000 pound weight capacity. This hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. It does use a unique roller design to reduce resistance during telescoping to help create straight line movement. You can see the rollers right here and down here. If you notice, on all those rollers, they do put a grease Zerk fitting for lubricating the rollers. This is a sturdy, durable steel construction which will resist bending in jackknife situations.
It's a standard, heavy-duty coupler, has the easy opening ring latch right here. If you just pull up on, that will release it, attached to your hitch ball. When you let it go in, it will lock back into place. It does have a breakaway kit that's all included. That would be the chain here that connects to the breakaway lever, so you can see this chain with the hook on the end.
This hook will connect to your tow vehicle, so then if by chance, your trailer would happen to detach from your tow vehicle, it would pull on this chain, which would pull the breakaway lever and cause the brakes to lock up on the trailer to prevent a runaway situation. It is all in a primed finish, it is a weld-on installation. A few specs on this, this application is for disc brakes. The ball size, again, that it fits on is 2 5/16" diameter. It is designed to mount onto a 3" wide channel tongue and the weight capacity is 20,000 pounds, maximum towing weight capacity is 2,000 pounds. One last note, I do want to mention on this, is this does not include a reverse lockout, which is usually a solenoid that's attached to the master cylinder back there. Because it does not have that reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free backing brakes, so that you can drive it in reverse without the actuator triggering your trailer brakes.
That should do it for the review on the Titan Weld-On Brake Actuator for Disc Brakes. It's a 2 5/16" hitch ball and has a 20,000 pound weight capacity.
