Hauling bigger gear doesn’t mean taking the cover off. The BAKFlip G2 folds up in four sections so you can open just part of the bed or flip the whole thing upright against the cab. When fully folded, built-in prop rods hold it steady for driving with the bed completely open. Rubber bumpers protect the cab glass, and tie-down straps with buckles keep the panels secure when you only need partial access. You can still see out the rear window, and because it mounts inside the bed rails, your stake pockets remain free for accessories or racks.

With the tailgate closed and locked, the G2 locks too. Each panel automatically latches under its own weight, so closing it is as simple as folding the sections down. The release cords tucked in the corners let you open it easily when the tailgate is down. The solid ½-inch aluminum panels make it tough for anyone to pry up or cut through, giving real protection for tools, gear, and groceries.

Each panel is made from ½-inch thick, rustproof aluminum backed by a closed-cell foam core that adds strength without extra weight. The black paint finish with a hair-cell texture resists UV damage and corrosion, while aircraft-grade aluminum rails use a powder-coat finish to stand up to weather year-round. The cover can support up to 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight, so it’s strong enough for work and weekend use alike.
The G2 doesn’t just look tight—it seals tight. Matte black rubber seals run all around the perimeter to block rain and dust, while built-in gutters in the frame rails channel any water that gets through out through drain hoses behind the cab. It’s not just about keeping cargo dry; it also helps prevent buildup of grime in the bed.
Setting up the G2 is simple and tool-light. The frame rails clamp inside the bed rails—no drilling needed. Bolts secure the front hinge rail, and the slotted brackets let you fine-tune the fit for a snug seal. Once tightened, the low-profile cover sits flush inside the bed for a clean look that’s ready for racks or accessories.

Still is exactly what I hoped it would be. Adds security to my pick up bed, looks great and gets compliments. Plus it is easy to use. Great product...

After using it for a while Im extremely happy with this cover. It has been a game changer, making my 2008 Ford Ranger bed far more useable and convenient for carrying a variety of items. One of the best purchases Ive ever made for it.

After a year of use the cover still works perfectly and I would highly recommend this cover. I really like the fact that you can open up different sections without having to open the whole thing.

Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this. What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.

Generally this cover continues to perform well. There is a small leak, which I haven’t been able to locate, but it’s not enough to do any harm to whatever may be in the bed. I would still recommend this cover.

It has been holding on strong. One of the weather strips was coming undone, but I was able to adhere it back down.
