Does Last Panel on BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover have to be Flipped Up to Open Tailgate

Question:
So I watched the video. Would I have to flip over the first section of the tonneau cover just to open the tailgate. It shows the tailgate has to be closed in order to close the last section so I am assuming....please let me know.

You would not be able to flip open Tonneau cover # BAK26204 will the tailgate closed because the mechanism for doing so is located under the cover. So yes, you can open the tailgate without having to flip up the rear-most panel on the cover!
