Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a quick look at the GSI Outdoors Rugged Cutlery Set. This allows you to have your knife, fork, and spoon with you wherever you go. Let's take a closer look at it and see if it's going to be the right set for you. It's going to be made out of a heavy-duty steel construction.
Each one of our utensils is made out of a stainless steel, so it's nonreactive, it's fireproof, and we shouldn't have any worries about rust, either. The knife has a serrated sharpened edge, so that helps to cut through tougher foods like stemmy vegetables, or meats, things like that. Fork has that full-tine design to it, so it doesn't have those little short tines you sometimes have on other cutlery, and our spoon as well. They're all held together by this little tie, so you can undo that and actually use your utensils. We take this off. It's just an easy way to pull that through and keep everybody locked in together.
They are pretty flat, so that helps to save us some space in our pack, keeps everything together. If you arrange them like this, they sit pretty nice and flat together. Shouldn't take up too much space.Since the handles have been cut out, that definitely lightens their weight, so they shouldn't weigh you down too much. The whole set weighs just 2.7 ounces, so under three ounces of weight. As far as the size, looks like our knife is maybe the longest.
Seems like they're all pretty much the same length, which is just about six-and-three-quarter inches, or just shy of that. Then at the widest point for our spoon, it's just shy of an inch-and-a-half. Then they're each going to be a little different as far as the depth, but our spoon, again, it's about half an inch deep there. They are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. I'm going to just stack them up again, use my little tie cable to set them up and get everything tied down again. Really simple, really easy.
Should be a nice, long-lasting set for using out in the wilderness.Well, I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right cutlery set for you. We do have other options as well as other accessories for camping and hiking here at etrailer.com, so check them out. Thanks for watching.
