Features to know about

Better Grip When Roads Turn Slick: Diagonal Pattern Keeps Traction Through Turns

These Titan Chain cable chains use a diagonal pattern that keeps a roller cable in contact with the road at all times. That steady contact helps you keep control when turning or stopping on snow-covered pavement. The low-profile rollers ride smoother than thick ladder-style links, so you get more grip without the rough vibration that comes with heavier chains.

Ideal for Light Snow and Everyday Winter Travel: Low-Profile Cable Design

When you just want a reliable backup for light snow or icy patches, these compact cable chains are a smart pick. They’re lightweight, easy to handle, and don’t take up much space in your trunk. Perfect for drivers who might only use chains once or twice a season, they give you peace of mind if weather changes fast or you’re driving through areas that require chains on hand.

Smooth Fit on Tight Wheel Wells: SAE Class S Compatible

These cables meet SAE Class S clearance requirements, so they’re built for vehicles with limited space around the tires. The low-profile design clears tight wheel wells where standard chains won’t fit, giving you traction without interference. It’s a simple solution when you need snow protection but can’t run bulky equipment.

Secure Hold Without Extra Gear: Rubber Tensioners Included

You don’t have to hunt for extra parts—the set comes with custom rubber tensioners made for these cables. Clip them on in a star pattern and they pull everything snug around the tire. That tight fit helps the cables stay centered and reduces slapping or shifting as you drive.

Built to Last Through Winter Use: Alloy Steel Construction

Each roller is made from durable alloy steel for strength and wear resistance. The sturdy materials hold up to cold, wet road conditions and repeated use, so you can count on them season after season. They’re solid enough to handle real winter driving while keeping weight and bulk to a minimum.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

I bought these for my 2018 CR-V. They were quick and easy to install. There was plenty of clearance behind the wheels. Once I use them in the snow I’ll update my review, but I’m extremely pleased so far.

by:

They are a rather snug fit on my Honda CRV 235/60R18 tires but worked beautifully on my very icy hillside 1/3 mile driveway. Easy to put on. Very happy to have them.

by:

These are good cable chain which fit nicely on the CR-V.

by:

Shipping was quick and communication was great from purchase to delivery. The cable chains install quick and easy in one step without having to move your vehicle at all. Fit is perfect and snug for my 255/70R18 tires.

by:

I haven't tried them in the snow yet, and hope I never have to, but they're super-easy to install in my driveway. The communication with and service from etrailer was beyond great.

by:

Great tire chain used it this thanks giving and after seeing so many cheaper ones and some expensive ones break I was glad I got this make great chains easy to put on and worked great

by:

I was very happy with the overall order process and the quick delivery. Chains comes in a nice bag for storage.

by:

The chains arrived quickly and look great! They come in a nice storage bag. We have not had to put them on our new car yet but we are ready. We hope to carry them and never use them just like insurance.

by:

Received chains much earlier than I expected. etrailer is great to work with. Got notice when they shipped and confirmation when I received them. Watched their installation video and was able to install my chains easily. They fit perfectly and looking forward to hitting the mountain snow!

by:

These were mounted on a 2017 Fiat 500 Sport. Last February we drove from Quartzsite Arizona thru Santa Fe New Mexico to Denver, Boulder, and then spent 3 weeks in Aspen Colorado before heading west back to Quartzsite. In Aspen it snowed nearly every day and I put the chains on and removed the chains multiple times. By the third cycle I had the installation wired and could install them on the side of the road in a raging blizzard in less than 5-6 minutes - with gloves on. Great product that worked incredibly well. We could have never done the trip without them.

by:

I have not used the product yet but I pulled it out and simulated the installation steps. Product looks solid and of good quality. The instructions contains photos, some of which are difficult to discern the details; a drawing/diagram would be more helpful.

by:

I knew zero about snow chains for my truck. etrailer website gave me all the information I needed to make a buying decision. Then easy ordering, great shipping and perfect follow up. They even showed me how to install my chains!

by:

I haven't used them yet. Price and delivery were good. Previous purchases from etrailer have been very satisfactory.

by:

I've used these chains several times in this winter and it works only on flat roads with light snow. My 2015 Subaru Forester wearing these chains couldn't climb 10 - 20 degrees road with around 3 - 6 inches snow. I was expecting my Subaru could climb that road because it wasn't steep. No issues with clearance. I should have bought diamond pattern chains.

by:

Haven't used tire cables yet … but … did install one to check the fit and look. And the thing fit perfectly on my 2019 F150 with 245/70r17 tires. Even look pretty good too! I especially like that the cables can be put on as the truck sets - no need to lay them out and back over them. And the carrying bag is nice - keeps everything together and able to be stored under a seat, in the bed, or wherever. I thought about getting chains with v-bars … but didn't think I needed anything that aggressive - so the tire cables ought to do just fine in deeper snow, packed snow and maybe even on ice.

by:

We ordered these during the recent winter storms in North Carolina. Have never used chains before. Unfortunately, due to USPS delays, by the time we received them, we really didn't need them, but they will be good for peace of mind. I'm sure sometime they will be useful. We practiced putting them on yesterday and found that the tensioner was a lot harder to get on than shown in the video. My husband, who is strong, was barely able to do it, and there's no way I ever could. That's why they got 4 stars instead of 5 from me. But the product seems to be high quality, and I love the carry/storage bag they came in.

by:

Perfectly capable tire cables. Helped me get around my iced up city during the North Texas ice storm in late January.

Only two criticisms: 1. The bag came really dirty and dusty, like it’d been sitting in a barn since the 1800s. 2. the included tensioners weren’t long enough to strap to all 5 points across the rim. Luckily I had some 18 in bungee cords that solved this problem.

Best and easiest chains I have ever had. Excellent

by:

I just received the chains tested them out in my garage. They are very easy to install in a controlled environment. It only took ten minutes. It'll be different when I actually have to install them in the snow. Since I live in California, hopefully I will only need them once or twice a year.

by:

The ease of cable chain installation gets easier and easier over the years. These are the best thus far. Probably won’t use them but “it is better to have a condom and not need it than to need it and not have one.”

by:

I have not had to use the tire cables as the vehicle I bought them for is 4x4. I’m sure they will work just fine if needed

by:

I can’t really speak to the product itself yet since I have not had the chance to use the chains, but the assembly of the product looks pretty straight forward and definitely remove your hub caps because it looks as if they will rub on the tension mechanism. I can say that my experience with etrailer.com has been amazing. Their site is extremely helpful and user friendly to find whatever it is you are looking for.

by:

Shipping was quick, installation fiddly but doable. Customer service was excellent. Removal is a pain as things wont line up as neatly, but with some practice isn't bad. I got to use the chains in anger this winter and performance was great, I got into and out of places that would have been impassible otherwise, even with true 4x4 and good tires. Recommended for the price point and for occasional use.

Thanks for the picture Chris! Glad the chains were useful for you. Did you practice in the garage first, or did you learn out in the snow?

  • Where to Mount Snow Chains on Dual Rear Wheels for a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500
Hey M, I checked the owner's manual for your 2016 Sprinter, and it looks like with models that have dual rear wheels you will have to mount the snow chains like the Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains # TH01571245 on the outer wheels.

  • Tire Chains Recommendation for 2018 Toyota 4Runner Limited P245/60R20
For your tire size of 245/60R20 the Konig chains you mentioned are not a fit so we do not recommend them. Instead we have the Glacier set part # PWH2228SC which do fit. These are twist link chains that will give you great traction but will be a bit smoother than square link chains. You'll need to check your owner's manual to determine if there are any tire chain restrictions on your vehicle. If Class S compatible chains are required you'd need a set of cables like the Titan part # TC741DC.

  • Recommended Snow Chains for 2018 Ford F-150 with Size 265/60-18 Tires
The Class refers to the amount of clearance between a tire chain and any part of the vehicle they're on. Class S chains require the least amount of clearance and are often required on passenger vehicles. I looked at an owner's manual for your 2018 Ford F-150 and it does state to use Class S chains. It also states to install chains on the rear tires only and to not exceed 30 mph. For a Class S snow chain I recommend the Titan cables, part # TC741DC. They include the adjusters so you...

  • Snow Tire Chain Recommendation For 2017 Toyota 4Runner LIMITED With 245/60 20 Tires
According to your 2017 Toyota 4Runner owner's manual the links on your snow tire chain should not be larger than 5mm thick. If you decide to use snow tire chains that have thicker links, you do so at your own risk. Most of these snow tire chains will have the Class S designation. My snow chain recommendation is the Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - K-Summit XXL - Size K78, part # KON84FR, because it is a Class S snow tire chain. According to pare 270 of the online version of the owner's manual for your 2015 Toyota 4Runner you should only install chains on the rear tires. I recommend checking your copy of the owner's manual to verify this. If you currently don't have tire chains then I recommend using Class S compatible chains as the manual also states that the link thickness shouldn't exceed 5mm. • Can Class S Tire Chains Be Used On a 2014 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Van?
You will need to use a cable like the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC741DC on your 2014 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Van according to your owners manual. We cannot make any recommendations that would oppose the manufacturers specifications. If you can get a GMC dealership to give you the okay to uses a set of Class S chains like the Konig # TH2004705255 then you will be able to use that. Both these fit the commonly used 245/75-16 tire on your Savana.
