Features to know about

Getting Stuck on Icy Hills: V-Bar Studs Bite Into Ice for Maximum Traction

When the road turns to slick ice or packed snow, the V-bar studs on these chains dig in and hold firm. Each studded twist link works like a tiny cleat that breaks through hard ice for a solid grip, so you can keep moving instead of spinning your tires. The ladder pattern helps you start and stop smoothly, giving you dependable traction when it matters most.

Deep Snow and Heavy Slush: Ladder Pattern Keeps You Moving Forward

In deeper snow, you need bite and forward momentum. The ladder-style cross chains on this setup do both—cutting through buildup and keeping consistent traction so you don’t bog down halfway up the hill. The low-carbon steel links are strong enough to handle repeated use in tough winter conditions without stretching or snapping.

Worry-Free Use on Rough Roads: Manual Setup That Stays Secure

Chains can come loose when driving on rough or uneven ground, but this manual setup stays put. There are no levers or cams that can pop open while backing up or crossing ruts. Once you’ve tightened the links and locked them in, they stay secure, even when you need to reverse or crawl through frozen dirt roads.

Heavy-Duty Build for Real Winter Work: Low-Carbon Steel for Strength and Durability

These aren’t light-duty chains—they’re built from low-carbon steel for dependable strength and long life. The 0.218" (5.5 mm) thick links are rugged enough for deep snow, icy climbs, and repeated use throughout the season. Each chain covers the dual tires on one side of your rear axle, so you get even traction and stability where it counts most.

Ready When You Need Them: Compact Storage and Legal Peace of Mind

When snow season hits or chain laws go into effect, it’s good to have a set ready to go. This kit includes two dual-tire chains (for both driver’s and passenger’s sides) and comes with a reusable canvas storage bag, keeping everything organized and easy to grab when conditions change. With a 30 mph maximum speed rating, they’re built for safe and reliable use in real winter driving.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

I purchased these tire chains as an “insurance policy” for bad weather. I’ve not had to use them yet. They look well made and are quality steel. The price was decent and the customer service was excellent.

by:

Product looks great but since I ordered the Snow Chains in August I have not yet had an opportunity(?) to use them. Greg at E-Trailer was very helpful and the Video for Installation was excellent. I have bought many items from e-trailer and have continued to be impressed with service and delivery as well as with the products.

by:

Product appears to be very good I haven't had to chain up my pick up yet but they test fitted well with the heavy duty rubber chain adjusters - bought more for chain laws in Colo and to pull LQ horse Trailer out of a bad spot

by:

Excellent product, well made and a good fit. etrailers web site is very easy to navigate and find the right part for what my application was. the carton was well packaged and shipping was very fast, Although I did order the wrong set of chains the first time due to my error I was able to return them and get a full refund and then reorder the correct chains, but a lesson well learned to pay attention to detail. I have not used the chains yet but I did do a test fit and they are a nice snug fit. I would surely recommend etrailer for your needs.

by:

Couldn't believe how fast these arrived! Great product, great packaging, fast delivery!

by:

I loaded my 2WD Chevy 3500 dump with a ton of stone. I put the chains on my duals as in eTrailer's video spreading the chain out with V-cleats up, gathering the three lengths across the palms of my hands, and laying it over the tires. Worked like a charm. Put on the rubber bunji ring, hitched to my 14 ton trailer, and pulled it up an 8% incline in snow and mud without slipping. Totally worth it. My truck is worthless without chains in this weather.

by:

Chains carried 30day warranty. They broke any few weeks after their warranty expired and didn’t even last a full season. Do not invest your money into these poorly designed chains- too weak for heavy duty trucks. I’m very disappointed and glad they didn’t break anything else like break lines or something.

by:

Good service good quality fast shipping descent price. Thank You again

by:

Have not had to use these chains yet, but I did a practice run of hooking them up. They fit nicely and it was not too hard to install them.

by:

These chains fit perfectly and are well-made. The hooks are rugged and easy to use.

by:

Haven’t used them yet

by:

These are not what i ordered. The ones i ordered have cam tighteners as shown in the picture. The ones i received do not.

by:

I ordered TC4831CAM and got TC4831 without the CAM

by:

Fit like they should only problem was when the chains were assembled one cross link was twisted. Spent a half hour trying to untangle it but was an easy fix, uncrimped it and took the twist out and recrimped it and all is good

by:

Unfortunately I haven't used the snow chains yet.

by:

As always very satisfied with my order and service. I love etrailer.
Great products.

by:

Have not tried the chains on our church bus yet, but I am very happy with the customer service I received as well as the shipping time. Price is fair and shipping price was great. Quality of chains seems well made, I will update after use. Thank you.

by:

Other than test fitting, I have not used in snowy road conditions yet. State law requires me to have snow chains due to my truck's weight.

by:

I have a Ford dually with a Salt Dogg spreader. During the last two snow storms (5/8 inches) in northwest NJ, I got stuck on small hills in four wheel drive. I looked on line and liked the etrailer website. i called to clarify a question on size (17 inch rims) and spoke to Adam. He was very helpful and knowledgeable--I ordered directly on the phone which was quick and easy (none of the typical on line ordering BS). The order came in several days and was packed well considering it weighed 65 lbs--the box was not damaged/dented in anyway (three cheers for UPS--I avoid FEDEX at all costs). I haven't used them yet, but they look heavy duty and well make. i'll be back after they are used.

  • Dually Tire Chain Recommendation for Tire Size 245/75-17
We have dually tire chain setups for your tire size of 245/75-17 like the Titan Twist Link set part # TC4231 which will work really well, but since cable setups are more designed for emergency use they aren't typically used on heavier duty vehicles like duallys. They don't typically last very long so I wouldn't recommend that route for yours with a cab over camper. The twist link setup I mentioned is a great choice if you want a smoother ride quality and the V-bars part # TC4831 are great...

  • Can Tire Chains be Used on a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 with Dual 235/80-17 Wheels
According to the owner's manual for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500, traction devices such as tire chains are not designed to be used on models with dual rear wheels. With that being said, we certainly understand certain states require the use of tire chains. The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC4831 are not confirmed to fit 235/80-17 tires. If you choose to use a set of tire chains, the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC4821CAM with cam tighteners or part # TC4821 without cam...

So these chains you have chosen are correct. And they are both V-bar construction so they will match up. Rubber adjusters are recommended, # TCMA2, sold in pairs, to ensure a secure fit.
