Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind your tail lights. You will have to remove the rear threshold and the driver's-side panel to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2023 and newer Dodge Hornet vehicles. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website and use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show ya if this will work for the application. Now, this harness here, will provide this 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters, that we do sell separately.
And this does connect very quickly and easily, all you have to do is locate your connection points, which are behind the tail lights. Plug in your T-connectors, there's one for each side. You'll ground your white wire, and then run your power wire to your vehicle's battery in the trunk. This black box here, this is the, it includes the circuit protected tail light convertor and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. It is a powered module, so it connects directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system.
And it does provide protection against electrical shorts and overloads. If you notice on the 4-way itself, it has attached to it an integrated dust cover, so when you're not connected, you don't plug into a trailer, you can put that dust cover over there and it protects the terminals from any damage or from the elements. A few specs on this. The max on the amperage for the stop and turn lights, is 5 AMPS per circuit. Tail lights, 7.5 AMPS per circuit.
Now, this kit will come with everything shown here on the table, and just to go through these parts for ya, how they would attach, they do give you a nice set of instructions that'll describe and show pictures of how it installed. But as we mentioned, you'll go to behind your tail lights and you'll find the connection points that you'll unplug and then plug these in. The yellow wire would be for the driver's side, the connector with the yellow wire, so the driver's side. And then the green wire, there's a length of green wire, that's for the passenger's side, and you'll do the same with the connector over there. Once those are plugged in, you'll run your 4-way out towards the back.
And then what you'll want to do is this black box, this tail like convertor box, does have a little weight to it, so you do want to attach it to a flat surface so it doesn't bounce around. It has a little tab with a hole that you could put a screw through there. Or they do even include a piece of double-face tape you could use to do that. And then you'll have two connections to make, as we mentioned the white wire has the eyelet on it, that you want to connect to a good, clean ground that's nearby. If there's not one, you can actually make it with this grounding screw that they include, so you can make your own ground. And then the last is you want to run this power wire to your vehicle's battery to the front of the vehicle. So, what you'll do is take this length of wire with the connectors, and you'll put a connector on your power wire and put it to one end of this length of wire and then run this all the way up to the front. Now, when you get to the front, you don't want to attach this directly to the battery, you want to put a connector on it and then connect one side to the inline fuse holder just like that. And then on the other side of the fuse holder, you put a eyelet connector and then that's what'll connect to the battery. Once you get it connected to the battery, just take the included 15 AMP fuse, put it in there, push it down, put your cap on, and now your system's all ready to go. They do include some extra cable ties to take up any slack in the wiring. But that's gonna do it for a look at the T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with he 4-way flat trailer connector.
