Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on both the driver's side and the passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear bumper fascia to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this T-One vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector. Now this wiring harness is designed to fit your 2023 and newer Ford Escape without the factory tow package and on custom fit parts such as this wiring harness I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now this harness is going to give you a four pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is compatible with five pole, six pole and seven pole adapters, and those adapters are sold separately.
And as you can see here, this does include a dust cap for that four pole flat connector. And what's nice about this dust cap is it is tethered to the plug so you're not gonna have to worry about losing it, and it's really a tight, secure fit on there. So you just give it a good push down and then that's going to close over those contact points, so you're not gonna have to worry about moisture or dust getting in there when you're not using it. That cap's gonna do a great job of protecting it. Now this black box here on the harness is a ModuLite power module, and this ModuLite is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer.
This connects directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading the vehicle's electrical system. So it's gonna reduce strain on your vehicle's wiring system. And what's nice about this harness is it's not going to affect how your tail lights on your Escape work. Now this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. There's not gonna be any splicing of wires, there's not gonna be any alteration to your Escape's wiring, which could lead to damage or voiding warranties.
This custom fit T-One connector plugs into your Escape's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on the driver's and passenger sides. You will have to remove the rear bumper fascia to access this harness. Instructions are included to guide you through that installation process, but these T connectors are custom fitted for your Escape. So they're gonna match up perfectly with the connection points on your Escape and they're gonna snap and lock together for a tight secure fit. Now once you have these plugged in, you will need to make a good ground connection.
And then the ground wire is going to be this white wire and it has a ring terminal attached to it. And it does come with a self-tapping screw that you see there. So you can get this grounded to a suitable location such as your Escape's frame or cross number. You just wanna make sure that the surface is clean and rust free. Next, you will need to mount this ModuLite box to a safe out of the way location. You can do this with another mounting screw that you might have on hand or with the included double-sided adhesive tape or maybe even with one of the many cable ties that's included with this kit. Then you will need to run a hot lead to your Escape's battery. That's this short black wire that's coming out of this ModuLite. This short black wire is going to get connected to one end of this included bundle of black wire, and then you're going to connect this wire and this wire with one of the included butt connectors. And then the other end of this bundle is going to get routed to your Escape's battery. And once you have this routed to the battery, you're gonna take this fuse holder and you want to cut that yellow wire in half and then connect one of the wires with the other butt connector to the routed wire. And then the other wire is going to get at this ring terminal attached to it. And then that ring terminal will get attached to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. This does come with a 15 amp fuse and that fuse will slide right into the fuse holder there. And then it's got a cap there that's going to keep that fuse safe and protected. You're gonna be able to secure any possible slack that you might have in your wiring with one of the many cable ties that I mentioned earlier. And then once installation is complete, this four way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle. You could, what I would recommend is instead of just storing this in your cargo area, I would recommend taking a look at the bracket options that we have. And you could mount the bracket by your trailer hitch receiver for easy access. So you could either store this in your cargo area or store or mount it beneath your vehicle with one of the many bracket with one of the bracket options that we have here at etrailer.com. Now the maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is five amps per circuit and for the tail lights it's 7.5 amps per circuit rather. This is constructed of 16 gauge bonded wire and Tekonsha makes one of my favorite wiring harnesses. That's this T-One vehicle wiring harness. It's of great quality, so I think it's gonna hold up really well for you and operate for many years to come. As I mentioned, instructions are included and it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections like the plugs that you're gonna, that plug in in your vehicle, and even the four pole flat conductor itself. And that grease is designed to prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So on your screen I am including our item number for that grease, you can just take that item number and pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that dielectric grease and you can add that to your order. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
