Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting or splicing required.
Features:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove the rear threshold panel and trunk lining to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Hi everybody. Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Hopkins Plugin Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. Make sure you're double checking etrailer fit guide on our homepage where it says your make and model on your vehicle information. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time, Now getting into the product itself.
This is again, a four-way flat trailer connector. Once it's all been installed and wired up, it's gonna leave you with that four pole flat connector just right here. They also give you some dielectric grease or terminal grease for installation. A couple of screws here looks like, some cable ties and the dust cap to put over this four-way. Now, once you install this, this connector gets stowed in the trunk of the vehicle, and then when you need to use it, you just pull it out, drape it over the trunk, close the trunk, and that gasket in there has a lot of give, so it's not gonna mess up the wires or anything.
Now sometimes they call this a T connection or that kind of thing. Basically what you're doing is you're unplugging the factory plug behind your taillight in the back of the cargo area, and then you're going to plug one of these back into where you unplug the one and then plug the one you unplug back into here. Thus making that connection without any cutting or splicing. It also comes with this converter box on it, and that's gonna basically connect and protect all the wire signals going back and forth and make sure everything's copacetic and matching up so nothing gets burned up zapped or anything like that. Now that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look together folks.
I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
