Wiring up for trailer lights doesn’t have to mean tapping into factory wires. The Curt T-Connector plugs straight into the vehicle’s existing wiring with matching connectors. It’s a true plug-and-play setup that keeps everything clean, sealed, and hidden once installed. No splicing or wire tracking—just connect, secure, and you’re ready to tow.
This harness gives you a standard 4-flat connector that powers your trailer’s running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the most common setup for small and mid-size trailers and makes hooking up simple. The design keeps a solid connection for dependable lighting every time you tow.
Built with an integrated powered converter, the harness draws power directly from a 12-volt feed instead of overloading the vehicle’s light circuits. That means your trailer gets full brightness while your vehicle wiring stays protected. A properly seated 15-amp fuse in the engine compartment supplies the converter with the necessary 12V operating power.
If trailer lights don’t come on, this setup makes it easy to check power along the line. Use a circuit tester or multimeter to confirm there’s power on both sides of the fuse in the harness. If power isn’t reaching the converter, look for a bent or corroded pin in one of the connectors or make sure the fuse is seated in the correct location—common fixes that get everything working again fast.
Once connected, the harness tucks neatly behind panels and through existing grommets for a hidden finish. The weather-tight plugs keep moisture out and help maintain a factory look with no exposed or dangling wires. It’s a tidy solution built to last through seasons of towing.

The manufacturer specifically designed the harness so the connector would be deployed from the interior of the vehicle when needed. This way, the connector is protected from damage when its not being used. This is typically done on passenger vehicles and smaller SUVs that arent used as full-time towing vehicles. The rear hatch of your vehicle has weatherstipping thats thick enough that the wire for the trailer connector wont be damaged as long as you avoid the latch area.
