Why Am I Not Getting Power To My Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness On My 2015 Honda Crosstour?

Published 09/29/2022

Question:

I bought the 56215 CURT trailer harness for my 2015 V6 Honda CrossTour. It took a while to find the empty plug in the back of the vehicle, but I connected everything. I added the inline fuse and replaced the 10 amp fuse with 15 amp fuse on the fuse box. I bought a special trailer plug wire tester to check the wiring, but I am not getting any power to the lights. I hooked up the trailer to double check but no luck. I thought I messed up the harness because I did not disconnect the negative battery cable on the first harness so I ordered another harness. I replace all the items above again with the negative battery cable disconnected. I reconnect the battery cable, I am still not getting any lights. I have run out of ideas for troubleshoot. Please help.

I spoke with Curt in regards to your Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56215 on your 2015 Honda Crosstour, and they mentioned that usually when this happens this is caused by there not being any power on the 12V feed to the converter.

They recommend that you are getting power to both sides of the fuse on the harness with a circuit tester # PTW2993 or a multimeter # PT89ZR.

If you are not getting power, than more then likely you have the fuse in the wrong location.

If after checking this you are still having issues, let me know and I'd be happy to continue to troubleshoot with you.
