When the bed is packed or the trailer is hooked up, rear-end sag can throw off your handling and braking. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 12,000 lbs of capacity to help level your ride when towing or hauling. The hollow rubber springs mount above the rear axle to provide extra support as weight increases, keeping your suspension balanced and steering steady without overworking the stock leaf springs.
Rough roads and uneven loads can make a truck bounce and bottom out. These Aeon hollow rubber springs compress progressively—soft at first for light loads, then firming up as weight builds. That means a smooth, comfortable ride when empty and solid control when loaded. The rubber design absorbs road shock before it reaches the cab, helping your suspension last longer while cutting down on harsh hits from potholes or washboard surfaces.
Hauling off-center gear or hitting a windy highway can make your truck lean or sway. Each Timbren spring works independently on its side of the vehicle to keep you stable through corners and crosswinds. This independent action reduces body roll when turning and helps control trailer sway so the whole setup stays planted and predictable.
Adding load support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Timbren system bolts to existing frame points using vehicle-specific brackets—no drilling, air hoses, compressors, or gauges needed. Once installed, it automatically engages when weight is added, so there’s nothing to adjust before hitting the road. You get dependable load leveling with less setup time and no maintenance worries.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at the Timbren rear suspension enhancement system. Now, this is a custom-fit part. This is designed to fit the 2007 to 2014 Ford F450, F550 Super Duty trucks, and the cab and chassis models. And, on a custom-fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this kit here will improve the suspension, the handling, and the safety on your vehicle.
This will provide additional support as needed, so you'll always have a nice, smooth, comfortable ride. This will allow the leaf spring ample movement while cushioning any light loads, so it does not affect the empty ride of your vehicle, and it'll become more rigid as more weight is added, which will increase stability, provide great performance while hauling heavy loads, even helps reduce vehicles sag. These do work independently side-to-side. This will help compensate for any off-center loads, helps reduce body roll when you're swerving and turning corners, and these will even act as shock absorbers, taking the brunt of bumps and rough roads, helps extend the life of your vehicle's suspension. It will include everything shown here on the table, includes the two Aeon hollow rubber springs, the two spacers that'll go in there, the mounting brackets, when you go to install 'em, just like that, and then the extra mounting bracket for the one side.
And all the hardware you need comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. Now, this will replace the axle bump stops on your frame. There's no drilling required. Few specs on this kit: the capacity is 12,000 pounds. Now, these Timbren springs will not increase your vehicle's weight-carrying capacity, so you do want to make sure not to exceed the manufacturer's recommended weight limit.
And this kit is designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order. But that should do it for the review on this Timbren rear suspension enhancement system.

The TIMBRENs work as stated during when I am pulling anything heavy. However, when the truck is not pulling anything, anyone riding in the rear seat gets a very hard jarring jolt when driving over any roadway repairs, bumps, expansion joints on bridges. I wished that I would have went with the Super Springs, or the Road Active Suspension. I may replace the TIMBRENS later.

The unloaded ride is a concern we hear fairly often with SES upgrades, so your experience with the 1" gap and rough-road testing will be really helpful to others considering these for their F-250. Hi there, thanks for reaching out, that’s actually a common issue with this type of trim. The one you tried is a standard flat insert, but some RVs (like your NOBO) use a slightly domed trim to help it sit over the screw heads in the track. If the screws stick up even a little, a flat trim won’t fully snap in place, which sounds like what you’re running into. The best way to find the right replacement is to remove a small piece of your original trim, lay it flat, and measure the full width from edge to edge. Most are either 3/4" or 1", but the shape matters too, not just the width. If yours has that domed profile, you’ll want something similar or a softer vinyl that can flex over the screws. If you’re able to send a quick photo of your track or old trim, I’d be happy to help you find a better match.

Glad they are working well for you, Kevin! Well, while you are towing, that is. We have heard that these can be pretty rough when unloaded, but work great when you are loaded. A quick release function on these would make taking them off when not towing a lot easier. I may pitch that to Timbren to see if they can work something out. I will tell them to call it something like the Kevin Device if they agree! ^___^ Sounds like quite the trip! What has been your favorite stop so far?

Thanks for sharing your experience Thomas. It is great to hear the Timbrens made a noticeable difference in ride quality and reduced body roll on your E350 Class C. We also appreciate the heads-up on the install. That kind of real-world feedback about brake line clearance is very helpful for others working on a similar setup. Would be nice if they had a stronger option, if you need the 5K, might need to go to airbags, but who wants to deal with having to air up if you don't need to. Where are you off to on the next adventure?

Now that its been a year Im very impressed with them. Theres no ride detriment without the 5th wheel attached and they do a great job of mitigating squat
