Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a quick look at the kitchen sink strainer with push in basket. This is going to be a nice kind of residential style kitchen sink strainer. And that basket is going to help to keep out any debris from getting into our pipes and causing any issues. It is going to be a metal construction, so it should last for a long time.
It is going to stainless steel, so we shouldn't have to worry about any rust or corrosion. That strainer does have a little rubber stopper there to help provide some cushion so that it can kind of squish down in there and give us a nice seal to close up our sink whenever we want to fill up the basin, maybe do our dishes with a nice sink full of sudsy water. And then open that up, turn it to the side and still allow that water to flow through and keep all the debris strained in our strainer.Comes with the slip nut, the plastic washer, and also our lock nut, and a rubber washer. So we keep everything nice and sealed up. And we'll give you some measurements here so you can make sure that this is the right fit for you.
So this lower portion is about one and seven eighths inches in diameter. The wider portion, the top portion is about three and a half inches in diameter. And then our top overall outer diameter is about four and a half inches. So this should work for sink openings that are three and a half to four inches across or four inches in diameter. The length of our threads for those smaller threads, it's about a half inch of length there.
For our wider threads, it's about an inch overall. The depth of our drain here, it's about two inches. So should be a good fit, if all those measurements fit to your opening. I'm going to seal everything back up here. And that's pretty much all there is to it for our string strainer with pushing basket. It's a good idea as to maybe pick up some silicone sealant for your sink to make sure that it's nice and sealed up around the bottom.
That rubber washer is going to do a pretty good job of sealing everything up, but you can never be too sure. So that is something you can find right here at etrailer.com if you are so inclined. But that's all there is for our sink strainer. If you want a different option, we do have a lot of other configurations available here at etrailer.com, so definitely check them out. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next time.
