Expert Reply:
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle, # F2176, will require drilling 4 holes per side for the upper brackets. It also will also include drilling two holes on the driver's side for relocating a line according to the attached instructions. The drilling of these holes will not have any major weakening of the frame. The frame will actually be supported by this system, so there isn't need for concern.
There isn't an Air Suspension system that doesn't require drilling. For a suspension enhancment system that doesn't require any drilling, I recommend using the 2016 Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, # TFRSDD. I've also included the installation details of this system for your review.
