An example of sag on a vehicle's rear axle under a heavy load

Whether you're hauling heavy loads in your bed or cargo area or you're towing a trailer, you will often see the rear of your vehicle sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.

Diagram of the Timbren spring installed

The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above the rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits, 1" above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.

Animation of a standard Timbren rubber spring

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.

Timbren suspension system works to prevent body roll

Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's side or passenger's side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you are hauling off-center loads.

An example of a trailers swaying

Because the vehicle handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer, and this helps to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or a passing semi), because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to your vehicle. This also works to make the sway subside more quickly.

An empty truck on a bumpy road without Timbren

Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall when loaded. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.

Timbren Suspension Enhancement Compared to the Competition

Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. And more elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride when loaded or towing because the rubber has more travel.

  • Recommended Timbren Suspension System for a 2023 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis
No, but I have a set that will. For your 2023 Ford F-350 cab and chassis, you will need the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # TFR350TTCC. This system has an identical 8,000 lbs capacity to the item # TFR350SDJ you were looking at. The Item # TFR350SDJ you were looking at only fits the regular 2023 Ford F-350 trucks. It won't be compatible with a cab and chassis model.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2015 Ford F-350 with Utility Body
I can help you with suspension enhancement that will work great on your 2015 Ford F-350 but since your truck has a service/utility body that would normally indicate you have a cab and chassis model truck that has a narrower 34 inch wide frame and for this variation of your truck there are no air bag solutions. The highest capacity suspension enhancement option we have for your truck is the Timbren part # TFR350TTCC which has an 8k capacity and replaces the jounce bumper and gives you...

  • Rear Helper Springs of a 2012 Ford F-350 Diesel 4x4 Flat Bed
First, if your 2012 Ford F-350 has a flat bed on it then it could be a cab and chassis model which are the ones that they turn into utility trucks, ambulances, and flat beds. To verify that yours is a cab and chassis model you can measure the distance from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other. If that distance is 34 inches (give or take a fraction of an inch) then it is a cab and chassis model. If it does turn out to have the cab and chassis frame then there are other...

  • Will Timbren Rear Suspension Always Contact Axle on 2021 Ford F-350 Cab & Chassis
So the overall height is 7-1/4 inches for the Timbrens that fit your 2021 Ford F-350 cab and chassis, which are the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR350TTCC. They will indeed always be touching your axle, and that's actually what they are designed to do in order to help level and stabilize your truck. As for the life expectancy, you can expect the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR350TTCC to last the life of your truck. They have a lifetime warranty and are...

  • Suspension Enhancement for a 2012 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis with 4-Wheel Drive
I checked with Firestone and there are no air bag kits that fit the 2012 Ford F-350 cab and chassis models with 4 wheel drive but we do have other options. If your truck is going to be used as a service vehicle such as an ambulance or utility vehicle then I recommend the 8600 pound capacity Timbren springs # TFR350TTCC. For non-service vehicles you can use the 6k rated springs # TFR350CC. The great thing about these springs is that you will not have to add and remove air all the time....

  • Suspension Enhancement System For A 2020 Ford F-350 Cab And Chassis With Service Body And B&W Hitch
I will be more than happy to help you with a suspension enhancement system for your 2020 Ford F-350 but because your truck has a service/utility body the truck will have a narrower 34 inch wide frame and the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F95FV or any other air bag kit will not work. I recommend the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # TFR350TTCC for your 2020 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis. This kit will both work with the Redding service body and with...

  • Recommended Timbren Suspension Kit for 2015 Ford E-350 Motorhome
For your motorhome that is built around a Ford F-350 cab and extended chassis I suggest a kit designed for severe duty. For your front axle you can use Timbren kit # TFF550SDH which works on both 2WD and 4WD models. This kit installs without drilling and will help stiffen your front suspension through its progressive resistance. For a rear axle kit you can use # TFR350TTCC which also fits both 2WD and 4WD versions. Both install in place of the factory bump stops. The kit you referenced,...

  • Helper Springs for a 2015 Ford F-350 with 4,000 Pound Slide-in Camper in the Bed
SuperSprings # SSR-103-47-2 would be a good option if the camper will be in the back of your 2015 Ford F-350 all of the time or most of the time. This product is intended for use on vehicles carrying constant loads. If you will be taking the camper out relatively frequently then # SSR-103-40-2 is the better option. Adding helper springs to the rear could put more stress on the front suspension so you might want to consider springs # TFF350SDC for 4 wheel drive or # SSF-111-47 for 2 wheel...

  • Availability of Air Helper Springs on a 2014 Ford F-350 Cap and Chassis 4X4
We carry a couple different options for suspension enhancement for your 2014 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis. Unfortunately, none of them are of the air spring variety. For your model, I recommend the Timbren Rear Enhancement System. Timbren offers two different weight capacities for the this vehicle. A standard duty model, # TUR350, and a heavy duty model, # TFR350TTCC. The standard duty springs,# TUR350, are rated up to 6,000 lbs and are of the jounce bump style. The Timbren system will...
