Heavy trailers or bed loads can push your suspension past its limit, making the truck squat and handle poorly. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to keep things even front to back. By pairing adjustable air bags with built-in jounce springs, they reduce strain on your rear suspension, help maintain headlight aim, and keep steering and braking steady when you’re hauling serious weight.
When the pavement gets rough or the air pressure isn’t quite enough, the internal jounce springs step in. Each closed-cell urethane jounce acts as an overload spring that absorbs bumps, reduces sway, and minimizes bottoming out. The more weight you add, the stiffer they become, giving you progressive support without the harsh hit of rubber bump stops. Even if air pressure drops, these jounces temporarily carry the load so you can keep moving until you reinflate.

Every haul is different, and this setup lets you tune for it. Run higher pressure when towing heavy and drop to lower pressure when unloaded for a smoother ride. The included manual inflation valves and air lines make it easy to adjust side-to-side or front-to-back leveling. Add an optional compressor system later if you want in-cab control or automatic pressure management.
Durability matters when your suspension takes daily punishment. Each 2-ply fabric-reinforced rubber air spring is protected by Air Lift’s roll plates to guard against damage from moving parts and increase load capacity. High-strength Zytel nylon endcaps are lighter and more corrosion resistant than steel, so the springs hold air tight mile after mile. With quality materials and maintenance-free urethane jounces inside, these springs are built for long service life in heavy-duty use.

The kit comes with mounting brackets, hardware, air lines, and manual inflation valves so you can install it yourself with basic tools. Just bolt the assemblies in place, run the air lines, inflate through the valves, and start driving with a leveled stance and solid control.

Product works great and helps level the truck during towing. I have noticed a difference in the amount of travel my back wheels have when offloading. But I knew that would be a sacrifice.

Happy to hear these are getting the job done! Your set up looks great, and man! What a beautiful picture. Blue, sunny skies, green grass, a cool breeze (I'd wager) perfect day to hitch up the trailer and get some work done!

Been great! I really don’t like the internal jounce stops though. When you are unloaded and running lower bag pressure, a dip or bump will hit the bump stops really hard and jar your passengers in the backseat. It’s almost too uncomfortable to ride in the backseat now. As for the loaded and high pressure performance it’s great! Great handling and no sag at all when towing.

Install looks fantastic Lloyd! Glad to hear they helped with the side to side movement. What kind of trailer are you going to be towing with the new set-up? Fun camper, work trailer?

Wow, Brian. Thanks so much for your in depth review and experience with installing the air bags. You gave some really solid tips and advice, especially the one about removing the tires. How's the ride now when you're off road?

What all did you end up having to do to the brackets to get them to fit, if you don't mind sharing?

Wow that's great, Slater :) Did you get the travel trailer a year ago too, or have you had it for a while? Any recommended destinations for your viewers at home?

Glad to hear the install went smoothly! Thanks for the suggestion on the brake line/ABS brackets too. Definitely something that could make a good kit even better!
