Hey Ruth, you’re definitely not the only one trying to reduce generator use, especially with fuel costs and noise being what they are. The Rich Solar Kit # RS67VR is actually one of the highest-output roof-mounted kits available at 1,200 watts total, and it’s a fantastic option for full-time RVers like you who want reliable solar power every day.

With 1,200 watts of panel capacity and a powerful MPPT controller included, this kit can deliver 60–70 amps of charge per day in full sun, more than enough to keep up with common full-time loads like:

-A 12V compressor fridge
-LED lighting
-Furnace fan overnight
-Water pump
-Phone, laptop, and camera charging
-Occasional use of a small inverter for internet gear or a blender
-Some AC use (not all day or night!)

Karen and Ed from southern Arizona use this exact system paired with a 300Ah lithium battery bank in their fifth wheel. They boondock on public land for weeks at a time and say they only fire up their generator on cloudy days or when they run high-draw appliances back to back or the AC unit for more than a couple hours. Otherwise, the # RS67VR handles everything, quietly and cleanly.

If you let us know what kind of battery bank you’re using AGM vs lithium, and how many amp-hours, we’d be happy to fine-tune your setup or recommend a matching inverter for those bigger loads. We’ve helped a lot of full-timers design their off-grid power setups, and we’d love to hear what your travel style looks like too.
