When you’re packing for long trips or loading up heavy gear like kayaks, tents, or lumber, you want bars that can handle the weight. These Heavy-Duty aluminum crossbars are strong yet lightweight, with a 500-lb capacity (always observe your vehicle’s maximum roof load). The bars are rustproof and built to stay solid after miles of travel and exposure to the elements.
Strapping down cargo can be a hassle when you’re short on anchor spots. These crossbars solve that problem with integrated tie-down points right on the endcaps. You can quickly secure ropes or straps without extra attachments, keeping everything tight and stable—whether it’s a kayak, canoe, or a rooftop tent.
Different setups call for different spacing. The 54" tracks mount to flat surfaces like camper shells or truck bed rails, giving you adjustable positioning for your towers. Once installed, you can slide the towers along the tracks to fine-tune where your bars sit. The setup uses durable aluminum tracks with C-channels and T-bolts for solid anchoring.
Wind noise and vibration can wear on a long drive. Rubber strips in the bar channels help cushion your load, cut down on movement, and keep dirt out. The SkyLine towers include HD adapters and can be pitched 6 degrees forward or backward so your 78" long crossbars stay level even on uneven mounting surfaces.
When you remove the bars or plan to switch setups, the 4 included Landing Pads have snap-on covers that protect the bases from dirt and weather. For added peace of mind, the system is lockable with Yakima’s Same Key System lock cores (sold separately), giving you an easy way to secure everything when you step away from your vehicle.
