When you’re loading up for long trips or hauling watercraft, the Yakima Heavy-Duty Bar Roof Rack gives you the strength to do it safely. The aluminum crossbars and tracks create a solid platform rated for 500 lbs, while still being lightweight and rustproof. Whether you’re securing large cargo boxes or heavy outdoor gear, this system stays steady mile after mile.
The included Heavy-Duty tracks mount to camper shells, truck bed rails, or other flat surfaces to create a fully adjustable base. Each track measures 72" per side and uses C-channels with T-bolts for reliable installation. Once in place, the SkyLine towers slide in the channels so you can fine-tune bar spacing for your gear setup and keep everything balanced and snug.
Each 68" crossbar includes integrated tie-down points built into the endcaps so you can easily secure straps or ropes right where you need them. When loading kayaks, camping gear, or lumber, these built-in anchors save time and keep tie-downs from slipping on smooth bar surfaces. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference when you’re working solo or packing in a hurry.
The rustproof aluminum bars are built to handle exposure to rain, sun, and road grime without corroding. Rubber strips in the channels help cushion cargo, provide slip resistance, and reduce wind noise on the highway. The endcaps finish off the tracks for a clean look while helping keep dirt out of the channels so everything operates smoothly over time.
Four SkyLine towers connect the crossbars to the tracks using HD adapters that fit neatly in the channels. Each tower can be adjusted up to 6 degrees forward or backward so your bars stay level even on uneven mounting surfaces. You can also add Yakima Same Key System lock cores (sold separately) if you want matching keyed locks across your setup for added security.
