The Yakima SkyLine FX keeps things sleek with a flush design that blends right into the roofline. There’s no awkward overhang, so the rack looks like it came with the vehicle straight from the factory. The integrated crossbar and tower system keeps everything tight, clean, and solidly mounted for a low-profile setup that’s easy on the eyes and built to last.
Long drives can get noisy when roof racks catch the wind, but this system’s aerodynamic shape helps keep things quiet. Push-down rubber strips fill in the top channels to reduce wind noise and vibration. These strips also make it simple to slide in channel-mount accessories without extra trimming or fuss, keeping both noise and setup time low.
No matter what you’re hauling—kayaks, bikes, snow gear, or a cargo box—these bars have you covered. The aero-style crossbars are compatible with most bike, watersport, snow, and cargo carriers. You can attach accessories through the top channels or clamp them around the bars, giving you plenty of flexibility for different setups across seasons.
When you’re hauling gear, strength matters. The SkyLine FX system is built from aluminum and supports up to 165 lbs of cargo (always follow your vehicle’s roof load limit). Each crossbar measures 41-1/2" long x 5" wide x 3-1/2" tall and comes in a black finish that looks sharp while standing up to weather and road wear. It’s a solid setup ready for years of use.
You can upgrade the setup with Yakima Same Key System lock cores (sold separately) to deter theft of both the rack and any channel-mounted gear. It’s an easy way to keep your equipment secure whether you’re parked at a trailhead or stopping overnight on the road.

After a year of use, these are still going strong. 8pairs of XC skis on a 300+ mile adventure to Jackson Hole. Downhill skis all winter. Kayak on top all summer. And I love the quick disconnect ability so I can throw the bars in the bed on long drives if I have nothing on top.

Working well, stayed installed. The covers aren’t designed well and a few have fallen off.

Thank you for your review. A bit of a gap is a good thing to drain rainwater if necessary. I would not silicone it just in case water could be trapped. A little gap is necessary but if you have a large gap, please contact Customer Service.

Glad we had what you were needing, Benjamin! What will you be carrying on your roof?

You definitely want to use the gaskets and I dont recommend using the crossbars without them. Here is an install video that might help you out with this part. Let us know if you still some assistance after watching.

I have a few questions about your 2016 Tacoma. Is it a double cab or access cab? Did you have a naked roof, factory raised rails, or factory roof rack?
