This roof rack has a 165 lbs capacity and does not extend past the rails. It uses custom fit towers to attach the crossbars to the rails on your RAV4's roof.
I recommend adding the Yakima Same Key System item # Y07204 to prevent theft. A great perk of Yakima's products is you can buy larger lock core kits 6 item # Y07206 or 8 item # Y07208 and have the roof rack and other Yakima accessories all controlled by the same key.
