Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the replacement side mirror for your 2015 through 2018 Toyota Sienna. This is going to be for the driver side. This is going to provide you with the power function, so it's still going to support the remote capability so you'll be able to use your controls inside your Sienna to get that mirror where you want it to be. It also still has the heated mirror glass so you can dissipate any kind of buildup of frost, ice, or fog as the weather dictates. It's also still going to have a built-in spot mirror here so you can have that wider field of view, eliminate any blind spots while you're going down the road.As is typical for our driver side, it's going to have a flat glass design, so it gives you a true representation of whatever's behind you, and the object's size.

It does have a cover that's separate. Whenever you get this, that cover is not in place. The idea is that you'll be able to paint this to match a lot easier with that cover removed rather than trying to do it when the cover's on, the mirror, and then having to deal with maybe getting overspray onto the mirror face or the rest of the black finish here. If you wanted to paint it to match, it's much easier to do that with this off, let it dry, and then pop it back on. Also, once it's in place, it's pretty hard to get this guy off.

You don't really want this to fly off while you're on the highway, so they make those clips really durable and strong to hold that cover on the housing here. Just some words of advice on that.As far as getting it installed, once you have everything in place and maybe painted, you'll just need to take that old mirror off, put the new on. It's going to have new flange nuts. Should match up with the original footprint. So just plug in your wiring, pop on your new hardware.

You should be good to go. There's no drilling, no cutting, no splicing required with this. Pretty easy install as far as replacing that mirror. It does still have a breakaway design. Since this cover's not on, I'm not going to smoosh this together, but if somebody happens to clip your mirror or if you happen to clip it going into a garage or going around a tight spot, it should fold in towards the body of your vehicle rather than just snapping off.

Helps to eliminate or reduce the likelihood that that mirror is going to break again on you.Now this does not support the Blind Spot Detection System or the BSDS. It also does not support memory function. If you already had those two functions in your van, this won't support them. Also, if you didn't already have heated glass or the remote capability at all, if you have just a manually powered mirror, this isn't going to upgrade you. This wiring has to plug into something, so if you didn't already have something to plug this into, it's not going to give you an upgrade for your system.
