Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the CIPA Dual Sport Mirrors

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the SIPA chrome sports mirrors. These are universal mirrors that are going to replace the side view mirrors on most cars. You can see they have a rust resistant, chrome plated, plastic housing and the base is a chrome plated aluminum so we're not going to have to worry about any rust or corrosion and it's going to give us that nice chrome appearance. These do feature a ball and socket joint that's going to adjust the mirror to the angle that we need for our vehicle and our sight lines so that we can be sure to see everything coming up behind us.

In most situations, to get these installed, you're not going to need to do any drilling. It is designed to utilize the existing holes in your car. On the bottom, we've got a space bracket. Let me pull this off real fast so I can show you how this works.So the space bracket is going to allow you to put your screws in and adjust those along the slots here so that you can line that up with the holes that are already in your vehicle. You're not going to need to make new ones and then in the middle we have the threaded mounting hole that will attach to the mirror base to hold our base to our vehicle.

You just throw that in. Kind of hard to do upside down. But once we have it in place, we simply tighten the screw back there. There is a screw on the underside here that will adjust that ball socket and you just have to take off your space bar to get that tightened down when you have the mirrors where you need them on that ball socket. So pretty easy to get installed.

I'm just going to have to remove the old ones. Line up your spacer bar there and get those three quarter inch mounting screws put in place.This kit does include all the hardware that you're going to need to get it installed, including those four three quarter inch mounting screws and the mounting pads that you see here, these black rubber pieces. This does come with both the driver and passenger side. So we're going to be able to change out both mirrors at the same time. Obviously that's going to help our vehicle look less cattywampus or uneven.

I do want to give you a few measurements to make sure that this is going to work for your specifications. So our mirror head, it's right about six inches wide, right at about four inches tall and then our length, you can see it kind of angles back there. But I'd call it right about four and three quarters, maybe just a little shy of five inches long. Our mirror face itself is right at about five and a half inches wide and three and a quarter of an inch tall. Our base is right about six and a quarter of an inch long. This does come with a one year limited warranty from SIPA. So it's nice to know they stand behind their product.It's going to do a good job for us and if we have any problems, we can talk to them and they'll help us out. But I think these are very stylish. They're going to look good on your sports car and that lightweight plastic and aluminum combination with the chrome finish there. It's just going to make it look very sharp and allow us to make sure that we know what's coming up behind us or what we're leaving in the dust.
