Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K Source replacement side-view mirror. This is a direct replacement for the driver's side factory mirror on your 1987 through 1996 Dodge Dakota. This is modeled after the Dakota's original look and fit, so you're really not going to be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror. It's going to look like it came with your Dakota right from the factory, so you're not going to have to worry about that pieced together from the junkyard kind of look.
It's going to be very integrated into your overall look of your Dakota, so it all looks all nice and put together.This does have the manual mirror face adjustment so that you can adjust your angles to whatever you need for the best viewing position. It is an OE grade product, so it's going to have the same high-quality materials as your original. The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it's going to give you a nice, clear image. It is a flat lens, like most of your driver's side mirrors are. So, it's going to give you a true representation of the object size behind you.
It does have a nice durable plastic housing with a black finish. So, it's going to look really nice and do a good job for you.As far as getting it installed, it's going to be extremely simple. We have the exact same footprint as your original mirror. So, basically, all you have to do is take your old mirror off, put this one in its place, get it tightened down and you're ready to go. You're not going to have to drill, glue, or anything like that.
It's all exactly the same as the original.Now, for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work for you, this is going to be an exact replacement for the original equipment number that you see on the screen there. So, if you we're to open up your owner's manual, see that number, or if your original mirror has that written on it anywhere, you can trust that this is the mirror that you are going to need.Now, this is just the driver's side mirror. If you're needing the passenger side mirror, we do sell that separately here at etrailer.com. You can find it using the part number that you see on the screen there. And so, basically, it is the exact same mirror as the original.
It gives you that passenger side view as well. But if you're needing both of them, you can pick those both up here at etrailer.com. Otherwise, this is just going to come with the driver's side.This does come with a 90-day warranty from K Source. So, if you we're to have any problems with it within those first 90 days, you could give us a call here at etrailer.com. We'd help you out with that. We do have a wonderful customer service department here to help you with any problems that you do encounter, but I really don't think you're going to have any issues. I think this is going to be a great mirror for you. Looks very similar to your Dakota's original. So, it's going to mount in place very easily and get you going again, giving you that safety to see what's coming up behind you and giving that nice, complete look to your vehicle once more. This replacement mirror fit like a glove. It looks just like the original mirror that came with my 2500. Etrailer always have good quality items and I always go to them first before I buy anything to see if they carry it.
Really sturdy and heavy duty, had to move my tire for install but not relocate it on my 96 f250. Took me a little over an hour, had pre existing holes so I only had to drill two of them out.
I have previously bought these mirrors to replace my stock mirrors, only thing I noticed was only one hole lined up and the other had to be drilled out. And the hardware to bolt on I believe should be more chrome and a different style but otherwise that the mirrors are perfect and look amazing on the truck.

The mirror is not an exact replacement. The mirror support is made of thinner aluminum, overall quality not ad good as the original. The overall size is smaller, so the mirror sits lower and closer than the original on my 1993 F150. However, the mounting bracket spacing is correct, so I didn’t have to drill holes in the truck door.
Second time I have made a purchase from etrailer I bought a headache rack which has been great, recently had a side mirror broken so I had bought two to replace them and some steps for my truck very fast shipping even giving the situation of the covid-19. All in all just a top-notch experience, great products great service great communication I don't have a single complain
Excellent Packaging, Great fit on to a 2003 Toyota Tacoma extended cab. The OEM mirrors had no ability to collapse for fitting into narrow spaces or while parked, these bring that necessity to the truck along with almost 1/3 larger height (more mirror!). Total width seems to be the same from the OEM. One BIG note, these mirrors do not offer use of the interior manual adjustment arm as the OEMs do; so you'll have to adjust the mirror by physically manipulating the mirror surface. Still these are a good deal and function well once installed and adjusted. GOod luck finding a better option for a Gen 1 Tacoma!
